Now that our winter snow prediction threads are drawing to a close, use this thread for general spring weather chatter.

Looking fairly dry over most of Australia for the next 7 to 10 days. Possible exception of SW WA.

Aaah spring. Looking forward to some sunny "just right" days in Sydney and the Blueys before it gets hot.

The cold front hitting Perth right now looks pretty big. I can see a dusting for the main range on Sunday night maybe?

EC and GFS would have very little moisture getting as far as the main range on Sunday.

    IMO

Looks like the blowdryer is about to get turned on. The October blowdryer is almost as predictable as the August winds are.

As usual, just as closing weekend finishes (and daylight saving starts) the long range forecast for NZ looks pretty mint.

That north wind is really blasting through Melbourne now. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's summer.

About to head to the golf course and wishing I still carried a 2 iron. That northerly is going to be hard work.

As of tomorrow Thredbo will only be running the Kozi express and the basin plus Friday flat.
The snow around Sponars/Antons today was fun spring skiing, jumping rocks and avoiding opening crevices, glad to have one last slide with no people.

Standard sort of spring weather so far this year. In the end we almost got to 30C for Sept, which we usually get. The water temps in the bays at Melbourne are down a bit, but a few days of 20C+ weather will help heat that up.

Very summery and warm under the cliffs at Mt Boyce in the Blue Mountains yesterday. In the arvo I converted my white tshirt to a turban thing under my hat for sun protection, and went shirtless.

Then, I checked the AWS, and it got to a max of 18.5 degrees! Amazing the difference aspect and shade makes. Could've sworn it was nearly 30!

I don't see much moisture of of this for NSW, so dry thunderstorms.
Should see some rain in Victoria though.

Supposed to be getting nasty in Melbourne this arvo. Possible hail and storms with strong winds. Could be trees down and rail lines cut, I suppose.

    From the Bom's SWW:

Highest wind gusts so far today: 111km/h at Mt Gellibrand, 104km/h at Nhill, 98 km/h at Mt Hotham and 94km/h at Cape Nelson. At 5.8C and the wind howling from the NW, that's major hair drier up there at Hotham.

35.6? Wow, that's crazy for September.

Radar pic in Melbourne looks fantastic. However, not getting any penetration inland, it's all south of the divide.

It dropped 10C in the space of an hour in town, down to only 14C.

Jeepers! Only got to 34.5 here in Penruff. Gross day, hot, dusty, super dry and wind 30km/h gusting to 50km/h. Glad I got a run in before work when it was 12c, zero wind, was absolutely glorious. Stark contrast to rubbish being served up this afternoon!
