Yep, i just went outside here in Lilydale.

The wind blowing the trees sounds like a freaking jet engine, I kid you not. Rain is coming down in sheets. I'm worried about the train line being cut by downed trees.

I think it should, in the main, mostly clear the metro area (except far east) in the next hour or two.
    Very quick system this one.

Absolutely wild here in Moorabbin. Had to lock the front door and baton down the hatches.

I'm really regretting not packing gloves and long pants for the ride home tonight. At least I packed my jacket and booties.

I have full wet weather kit, but looking at the radar I don't think I'm going to need it all.
    Winds are dropping off too.

Looks like some cold air behind it on the sat pic. Bom calling snow to 1000 m. tonight. Likely?

    Snowing at Lake Mountain!

    Carpark
    [IMG]
There won't be any toboganning though, as they dug up the toboggan run today.
    Pic before it started snowing:
The car park pic was taken just 40 mins after the one with the tractor.

Also snow on the ground at Baw Baw from the cams

All clouds gone, winds have really died down.

    Buller dropped 9 degrees from 5.30 to 7:30pm. From 7C to -2.
Falls and Hotham well above zero still.

Baw Baw cams shows a bit must have fallen last night.

Monday night is looking more like a wet weather event rather than one that will bring snow now.

Total dog end to the season. Thankfully July was such a ripper. Still expect a few coldies to sweep through in October. Will be interesting to see if we have another minty free summer like 2013/14 was. From my reckoning there was not a single snow shower after early Nov until early May. The usual pattern is a cold white one every 6-8 weeks. Meanwhile, south east NSW is green to the hills. Even Nerriga is green. Jindy hills are fluro green. Next week should put another layer of fresh water down as well. Should be a great spring for the farmers - at least down in the south east.

Quite odd, normally the wind builds up slowly. Sounds like it might roll thru short and sharp like a steam train.

Avalon up to 61 kph, dead calm here in St Kilda road. Bay is flat as pancake and the lake in Albert Park glassy.
    Must be very localised.

Yeh it is really strange out, just did my standard 3pm silo counts and it was mild, almost humid feeling with a very very light drizzle, and it was dead still.
But it has that, some sh!t is about to go down feel outside.

Doppler radar is quite interesting. Seems to show strong winds all around melbourne, but not in the city itself, or to the SW.

Very strange weather in Sydney overnight. Minimum of just over 20C was reached between 8 and 9pm then it started to warm up.

By 4am it was 25.5C and now just after 6am it's 25.1C. A dark and warm walk to the station this morning.
