Nah the helmets are just part of the incognito disguise, imagine if all the chicks recognised us when we went for a beer! We'd never get a beer and you AT boys wouldn't get a shag.

Dunno chriscross but my wife had fun making them for me and l while I have in the past poked fun at the Lycra clad crowd they are practical for certain kinds of skiing, and they are "Fun"
They were a test pattern for the Powerstretch which we are in the middle of sewing today

I'm hoping the yellow spotted pattern in the above photo isnt being used for the power stretch version.

Zac that's a fun vest for The Boss but we both love bold and bright patterns.
Unfortunately at this time Powerstretch isn't available in fun prints or camouflage either.
The Powerstretch is baby-poop mustard in colour which is almost as bad tho

No tele roots yet. But some big fat mole told me i was a shit parent at Thredbo yesterday for letting my daughter have a go at the "jump" at merrits. Possibly her idea of a pick up line. Need some some "No Bitchy Ugly Fat Moles" stickers for the tele skis.

Mate, Report yourself to DOCS for lax parenting. Did you get her to do a cossack or a three mute grab or just a decent daffy ?
Ps: Get lots of photos. Skiing and taking a bit of risk is a great way to end up with confident robust kids. Well Done.

Situation was as follows. Blowette spots jump from the Cruiser lift. Blowette asks dad to take her to the jump. Dad realises she probably won't be jumping, or even making it to the top of the jump but wants to keep her happy so we ski to the jump. Dad uses his head and waits for jump to be clear. As predicted daughter gets to the top of the jump and runs out of steam to make it over. Daughter phaffs about for a while at the top of the jump. Meanwhile fat ugly woman, who i assume was waiting at the bottom of the jump to take a photo of her kids, starts telling me to get her out of the way - at this point i'm on the jump with her to deal with any issues.

I'm not an idiot and i realise that if she stops at the bottom of the landing she's in trouble, but shes on top of the jump in full view of anyone wanting to have a go. I'm also trying to get her to ski down but shes stopped there working out how she's going to ski down. Again realising there's noone wanting to jump i let her do her thing and i'm ready to drag her out of the way should she stop lower down the landing.

So old lovey keeps giving it to me and then starts telling me i'm a bad parent and that Blowette shouldn't even be there because she can't ski. I politely tell her that it must be fun being one of her kids with her risk averse attitude. Her response is to tell me that "my kids can ski". I point out that Blowette is only 4, that it's merrits and not the winter Olympics and when she kept going gave her a mouthful in front of the daughter - not proud of that but the adrenaline got flowing and i couldn't help it.

When we get in the lift line Blowette asks me "why was the farking idiot yelling at me?". Whoops.

I struggle a little too to maintain the good human thing in Thredbo sometimes. I try really hard to stay out of everyone's way to the point of having a shit run occasionally. I just get a little punchy when the "attitude for no reason" idiots turn up when I'm with the +1 or anyone learning. Thank goodness for BC.

School holidays, you see the worst, sometimes the best too. The world would be a better place if a minority just stayed home.

Just had some good fortune. Found a pair of once used skins i bought for the +1 years ago. Soon after i bought them she changed skis. They were for skis shorter than my new tele skis. But i had left a fair bit of fold over at the tip. Pulled it apart and lengthened then and now they fit my tele skis - albeit about 10mm too narrow on each side. Should be sufficient for all but straight up the guts skinning.

So AT skis are staying at home this week.
