Tsugaike this week has been like a spring week in Australia making us muse whether or not Sun Peaks would have been better.

Better not to muse! You’ve been on enough ski trips to realise that you win some, you lose some.

More musing about next time if by chance there is one, which is unlikely. Last minute arrangements at SP and PE sale, if cash were available. A tad disappointing snow here but the lower cost in time and money vis a vis SP plus cultural experiences means a minimal downside so we made the right choice for our last ski vacation.

We’ve had a long string of 10 C plus sunny days here. Great spring skiing up top as long as one waits until 9:30 and the corduroy softens.

Worst snow pack in my 11 years but holding up nicely. Rambler is almost toast. All the front runs on Todd except for The Five Mile are done. The outdoor bars remind me of the Alps in April. Sitting on the deck enjoying the warm weather in a t-shirt and shorts.
    What’s not to like!

Hello again Mr Hudson. Good to see you're still enjoying it.

    When does Snowbombing start?

    Snowbombing Apr 5-7.

Tomorrow is the last day of the various Provincial school breaks, I’m told.

I believe you had more snow than us.

Even if we receive the usual epic April snow dumps, it won’t rejuvenate the lower runs. Up top should be good though. Strange year!

I’m planning on skiing until the lifts close. Still a window of 3-4 hours of good skiing most days. It is going quick with the sunny weather and longer days.

Brings in bodies to fill the village accommodations and restaurants at a time when most people have moved on to spring/summer activities. Only a small percentage actually ski/snowboard. If one lives by the Valley Trail system or right in the village you would experience late night disturbances. That said, it is a boost to the local economy and well organized.

I recall our old friend MS was very negative about it, until he actually experienced it, and then seemed to support it

Enjoy the rest of the white stuff while you can. I won't be back this season

I skied Morrissey today, icy early, softened from 10ish onwards. Photo is Burf, mid mountain won't be too bad, bottom, that's another story.

    You’ve experienced our warm temps.
    Working in the area?

Normally, this would be the weather we experience mid-April. Will ski until I can’t ski-in, ski-out. The 5 Mile is holding up to reach the village but Rambler likely saw its last day.

Great Spring skiing on the 5 Mile top to bottom. Sun is very intense with the snow.
Most of the runs accessed by the Crystal chair thaw by 10 am with the sun. No crowds at all. No fresh powder either
Getting patchy on some mid mountain runs but still lots of terrain.
Morrisey is very skiable in the afternoon.

I’ve had my last run of this season. It was good to meet old and new acquaintances this year. Even with 2018-2019 being a low snow year, I still managed over 90 days. Since I live here, a ski day is only 3-4 hours. Life carries on!

I’d love to be back in 19/20 but we have a few projects underway at home And I don’t think I can afford it, but we’ll definitely be there the following year

Still in SPs but short trips from home. Spending more time in BC and the Pacific Northwest this year.
Gareth, I know the feeling. Maybe I'll pass on SPs as well. Just kidding! Completing some exterior renos this Spring and Summer. Finished painting the exterior and interior the past year. Flooring changes in a few years. A structure changes in 20 years. Eliminating features that require annual maintenance. The uncovered West deck will be transformed into a low maintenance equivalent in keeping with the architecture. Fine tuning the landscaping as well. To keep a home current and in good repair I was told many years ago that it takes an expenditure of roughly 1% of the value of the structure to be spent every year. That's why commercial buildings and such have a tax depreciation allowance.

Not sure how many single family homes will be started this Spring. Another busy year for construction, Mostly multi-family condos. The only vacant lot left on my street (across from us) is the owner of SPs lot. May not be developed in my time on the street. Nice to see the infills being built.

Was in Kelowna today for Mr Hudson's Vet visit. A very nice spring day and a day off the mtn.

Its good to see all the construction work going on- great for the community economy.

That’s a long way to go for a vet visit!

Most Vets insist upon annual vaccinations regardless of the actual need.
We test antibody titre levels in his blood to various diseases. Not every year.
His levels are still protective. Not an anti-Vaxer, just avoiding unnecessary vaccinations.
I would rather pay for that service than load him up.

    Same with our bodies.

Finished the year with 82 days, with a daily range of 3000m - 6000m a day.

    (Didnt arrive till 26th December)

Got 4 x countries in. Jan/Feb were not conducive to much x country.

Had hoped to get back this summer - but a no go.

Looking at booking from Friday the 6th December to the 25th March 2020.

If everything goes Ok ill be aiming at hitting 100 days this coming year.

Lots of old and new faces this year. Some good skiing. February was bloody cold.

And the warm up in later March was a surprise, especially compared to other years.

Hope for a lot more powder like normal in coming years.

I just thought that must be normal. Very surprised to learn that the reason the slopes were nearly deserted my first couple of days was that it was too cold for the Canadians.
