Would have been an excellent close to the ski season. Looks like mid-season conditions up top. The snow base is even holding up well by the village. The usual freeze-thaw cycle each morning down lower. A virtual ghost town though.

Long warm sunny days should take the snow banks down fairly quickly.

Can still snowshoe and Nordic ski. Grooming once a week.

Spring skiing would have been great this year, will need to consider March for future seasons.

A beautiful place to spend time in isolation even with the lifts closed......

    Thanks @Hudson

    So far, so good thanks.
Hope all is well for all the forum folk.

Have the hill to ourselves. Long, warm, sunny days. Walking the lower trails, reading and enjoying the southern exposure on the deck.

This base will be here for awhile. A few photos from the parking lot area at Guest Services.

March is pretty much my favourite month of the season. Snowpack at its peak, lots of daylight but hasn't got crazy warm yet. I know retired people who spend most of the winter in Mexico or Arizona or somewhere else warm, but make a point of coming back mid March so they can ski the last few weeks of the season. They can still 'pay off' a season pass skiing 3-4 days a week.

This year peak snow depth was probably reached last week. Now we have a warm sunny spell and it's in the mid teens down in the valley which means about +5 up at the ski resorts. Looks like a good week or so of this, so the melt will begin. But with 3 m of base it will take a long time.

I am now. No crossing the border. Camping is on hold. More space to roam here without running into others.

I imagine we are all hunkering down at home.

Shot looking up the closed Rambler at the Morrisey Connector junction.

Another looking down Rambler toward the village.

Like Sly mentioned, there is a good base as one can see. Not as much as Apex but this will last for awhile.

I hike the trails in the afternoon. Any snow that has been groomed all season has a solid base.
Otherwise one post holes at least a foot. Usually more.

T-shirt weather for the most part.

Seldom see anyone. I do avoid the village core. Unemployment has to be close to 80% here due to the complete shutdown and tourism is on hold.

Western australia is doing very well COVID-cases - we are not shutdown, and advised only to socially distance. We have only 514 cases tested positive so far of which 216 have recovered. We have had 6 deaths, and all of those have come from cruise ships that have come into port in distress. Of the 514 cases, only 13 so far we cannot trace the origin, all the rest are directly linked to overseas travel or cruise ships

    Not shutdown?

Restaurants, Gyms and most of retail closed.

Businesses like mine down by a third and everyone partially stood down to working 3 days per week.

    Fun times??!!??

OMG these photos are bringing back great memories. On my walk with my boys this afternoon we were just discussing favourite ski resorts. The unanimous verdict: Sun Peaks!

My life is split into 3:

    Skiing/Boarding at Sun Peaks
Reminiscing about my previous visits to Sun Peaks
Planning my next trip to Sun Peaks

Life may look dire at the moment but this too shall pass.
Realistically, I’m thinking that we may not see as many tourists from away next ski season. Various reasons.

The Resort will still be here, the snow will come, we will enjoy what we are given and life will go on.

Change is the only constant. What new protocols will be in place for next season?

I would say it depends on the availability of a virus vaccine. No return to normal until that, or until most of us have had it and there's widespread immunity.

There is about a 0.1% chance Australians will be able to go overseas in 2020.

I disagree, I think this issue has been managed much better than you seem to think.

I think it is closer to 0.3 or even 0.4%
