So some details to help others planning. From Sydney ......

Korean Air doing about 21hr flights to Vancouver, for just under $2000. Luggage is 2 X 23kg. Ski bag counted as a checked bag.

Air NZ doing 19hr flights for just over $2000. Luggage is 2 X 23kg. Ski bag counted as a checked bag.

Air Canada doing direct 15hr flights for about $2500. Luggage is 1 X 23kg. Ski bag counted as a checked bag, so you may need to purchase more baggage.

Have look at Allura direct website, plenty of choice and good pricing. Top of the Mountain have some great properties but you'll pay a little bit more for the service

We normally book everything ourselves but went through an agent whom got us that price, couldn’t resist as it was significantly cheaper than showing on the AC website at the time - around $300.

Have to book accommodation through them but that was identical price as a quote we got from Top of the Mountain for the same property.

Price changes on the 18th Jan with AC. So booking before 18th, is about $500 more.

I’m at Sun Peaks with my two boys (16 and 13 by then) from 13 Jan -27 Jan (get it right, @Astro66 !!). Flying AC (yes, I know …. ) from (Canberra to) Brisbane through to Kelowna, then a few days at Revelstoke before hitting up Sun Peaks once more. Flights currently around $2900 CBA - Kelowna return through Travelplan. Waitlisted for a 1br apartment at Coast Sundance - their queen rooms are just too small and I couldn’t survive another 2 week stay fitting groceries into a bar fridge. Anyone want my photo again?

Extreme team here I come - extreme gazing at scenery, extreme exploration of cinnamon buns, extreme ….

@Telezacski clan in town around this time too, I think.
