The reason I quoted your post in the first place, with light hearted intentions, was that your use of common people stood out like a sore thumb

Looking up the dictionary won’t change this

In all honesty I have never heard anyone describe people they semi regularly bump into as common people

You are the first person I've ever heard use the phrase of common people/common folk, in that way. That's the whole point of the song I posted earlier. It's been common, snobby class tourism, parlance since, like, forever.

So yeah, your use of it was funny.

    snap.

TBH, @Astro66 , it's the sort of thing I'd expect you to say, in the expected way, anyway.

So you saw that "common" is an Adjective meaning "usual" ? And Adjectives are used before nouns to add detail to them. And "people" is a noun. So therefore placing "common" before "people" is perfect English to describe "people they semi regularly bump into" as "Common People you're bumping into regularly".

Regarding Light-hearted : I don't converse with you on this forum. I have never met you. How would I know the intent of a post from you, that distorts the content of my post. Making my post quite derogatory. Unless you disclose the emotion you are saying it with ?

Speaking as a paid-up member of the common people, I'm not offended.
