Sunset & Sunrise Thread

So I went out last night to photograph Comet Leonard (pic here)

When I arrived just after sunset the colours were magic!

Colours softened and I lengthened the exposure to soften the water.

Then Jupiter (top right), Saturn (middle right) and Venus (centre bottom) all came out and Venus offered a beautiful reflection on the lake.

Comet Leonard was imminent, and located above and to the left of Venus (about as far as Saturn but a little higher)

Got up for sunrise at the beach this morning. Clouds weren't perfect but sunrise is always a great time to be up and I never regret it even if it isn't out of this world amazing.

A small rain squall was off the coast just north of the sun, just finishing as I took this pano.

Still some nice moments

Last night, Lake Macquarie. Could have been magic, wasn't bad. I would have been better placed at the northern end looking down the lake to the south west rather than on the eastern shore looking west.

Turned a corner yesterday morning and saw this. I just about fell out of the car to get it before it changed. This is untouched colour taken with a Canon point and shoot A720is. Sorry the stitched panorama is a bit rough.

Tonight's sunset was just phenomenal, had to wait well after the sun had set to see the colours, even well over an hour after the sun had set there was still colour.

I love the equinoxes (both of them), there is orderliness about them that appeals to my pattern seeking mind, equal night and day, sun rises due east and sets due west, the seasons, Spring and Autumn are pleasant and hold promise.
Can we hold the spinning Earth right there ?
