Literally just made it home as the rain started. Very green out there.
I got a text from our insurer warning me to get the car somewhere safe away from the hail. I'm in Melbourne.
I'd offer but... guessing its at the airport anyway.
Swimming laps at the local river baths. Each breath on the western side, I was watching it getting closer and closer. Big drops started, then thunder, time to get out. The thunder/lightening and rain had us stuck under the pavilion for 30 mins before we could dash to the car.
Yeah, thanks mate, but hopefully they parked it undercover at the airport! How was the light show?
An iPhone time lapse video posted by another helicopter driver.
That was cool ..... Scary cool though
Nice and wet here
Round 2 on the way for today.
Due to land at Mascot about 6:30. Could be fun! Hopefully will have missed the tail end of it by then.
We will see
... will be a bumpy landing
Was indeed epic got to see it up close, no pics was busy
Sorry not sure how to embed. Worth clicking tho!!
My poor sister flew in to Sydney yesterday arvo from Hawaii. Her connecting flight to Melbourne was cancelled due to the storm, so she was forced to stay the night in Sydney. She be m4d
She's better off staying in Sydney than Melb. It's like winter again down here ATM. Can't wait to get back to somewhere more civilised.
I can think of worse places of being forced to stay
What, like Adelaide?
My daughter is working in Adelaide at the moment and flying back to Melbourne every weekend, she not happy either!
Frankly it isn't that warm in Sydney today either.
It's Spring, wait til it's 43C for 5 days straight, we'll be wishing for the cold weather.
Last night was cool, but the only unpleasant thing about it was the blardy wind. It's nice to have some changeable weather to break it up. I'm happy to have 3 or 4 consecutive days of low to mid 20's, and then a front moves through and cools things down for a day or two.
You guys are lucky in Sydney, getting two days worth of storms though. Entertaining. Just a shame if they mess you up in peak hour trying to get home.
40 deg C Bears say bring it on!!!!They like it hot after hibernating most of winter!!
Just keep the rum and coke cans on ice Steve?
No complaints from me about the storm... I love a good storm
Me too, great viewing.
So do I, as long as the boxed gutters at my house cope with the downpour
Pffft! Where's the dislike button?!
he must have forgotten to add the word river
One of the single greatest reasons for the move closer to the beach.
as long as you have off street parking
Just make sure you have a wide driveway. So many tools around that think it's ok to park with 50cm of their car across the driveway. Some can't car if they just totally park across your driveway. I always thought it would be amusing to draw using a marker pen, a dashed line & scissors with the comment "cut along line" on the cars that used to park across our driveway.
Smashed now on Sth coast.
12 degs and pessing down.
wind at conservative 20 kts
Lots of lightening , dogs are peaking ......
Sat on the porch watching the rain and lightening and listening to the rumble of the thunder with Ollie curled up on my lap asking "why the bang bang", "why the light" "why the noise"......gold. I will never forget last night for as long as I live.
and you replied... "sorry ollie, thats the last time I make a white bean stew"
Just noticed temp in Canberra is 7'c
Not enough hot air!
Tony having a day off?
Nah, he's just blowing all that hot air down his shirtfront
Jacqui Lambie home in her electorate, Clive's in court and Bill's gone missing.......for about a year now!
Point Perpendicular appears to have had the wind switch direction and start building about 30 minutes ago. It seems to be moving up the coast fairly slowly. For the Sydney people this change appears to be still a couple of hours away.
Just light rain in the CBD right now.
I've been watch the radar all day. The rain clouds have been sucked towards the low pressure all day just off the coast.
Hit Ulladulla around 11. The wind really getting serious last hour or so. Have no power, garage flooded...,,
Yes has gone fully south now where has been SW all day. Swell gone from 2 feet this morning to 6 plus ish now
Bugger! Hope you get your power back soon.
