I hadn’t picked that up from all the reports I’ve read. Where did you hear that?

    A class 1, must’ve been nasty terrain she’s hit.
My sympathies to her family and loved ones.

It’s tragic of course, but there’s usually a reason an area is permanently closed.

I hesitate to mention it, but it’s the elephant in the room

Must have followed some tracks into the pc area above lakeside bowl

That whole area is one scary big no fall zone

Some serious skiers ride a few very sketchy lines in there

Tragic, but you do have to wonder what led to this. Saw the report on the news this morning, and she had taken her board off and was walking when she fell down the side of what I'm assuming was the ridge line leading to Blackcomb peak, and down into the Lakeside bowl. The report stated she had fallen over 200m down the face. Whistler RCMP statement in the following report:

Sounds like the Avie was a side effect of the 200m fall.

Was walking (traversing across) the face above the band.

Yes, slipped off a cliff and slid 200 metres. Caused a minor avalanche that wasn't the cause of death. :(
