New to this forum, older to skiing! Why doesn’t Falls bother to give commentary to the conditions other than weather, lift status etc.? Days like epic ones today (apart from wind☹️) other resorts are jumping off the screen!! Awesome mountain- talk it up

They did, up until about 3 weeks ago, at which point they got called out on social media for straight up lying about forecasts and have since reigned it in.
They have been nothing short of disgraceful with some of the fanciful and misleading garbage they put up on their socials, I for one am glad they've tightened it up a bit. There are far too many sources of reliable information for people to put up with the crap they use as an excuse for reports and social media marketing. (/rant)

They have been very poor on Instagram this year. They should have had videos and stories all over the socials today and their park Instagram is way down on previous years.

Had a chat to a couple of lodges today looking for accommodation for NSW school holidays (as I usually do to round off the year).

All too many operators are pulling up stumps at the end of September (end of 1st week of Victorian school holidays) while Hotham has announced it is extending to the 2nd week of October. WTF #Fallscreek??

As I understand it Falls has always had 7 Oct as closing date. Hotham announcement just matching other resorts.

The table was cleared last night when I checked in, there's a hint of snow on it this morning.

Lift co operating and lodges being open are not the same thing. quite a few lodges at falls close before the final week because they just don't get enough bookings to justify staying open the extra week. getting a bed in the last week of the season should not be difficult.

OK, for the well-known table run ....
But on Hway 83 and Main St, nah. Not even for off-piste on the lee side where some of my tracks from the previous morning were still visible.

This storm as been more out of the North so that might've effected the aspects of accumulation a bit. Hwy 83 is usually pretty reliable though with it's leeward aspect to basically every direction, sunken gully profile and the trees on either side. Must say I'm a bit surprised.

At any rate, I'm sure you're not having any trouble finding it deep out there now @Ziggy!

No, there was enough windblown off-piste yesterday anyway to be challenging in the flat light.
Crossing fingers for better vis tomorrow. Don't mind letting the skis run if it's not into the air :)
