Never made it TeleMania 1 yet. Got to telemania 2 for the last 2 years, great both times. and of course telefest is a blast.
Telemania is like a concentrated telefest with a higher instructor to pupil ratio.

I wasn't there for last year's femme fest, but at Telefest they had these stickers that said "Tele like a girl...if you can" [IMG] - how is that supposed to be interpreted? :p

Hmm may have to try and get to PB for one of those this year. How about the Victorian events though?

BTW, the dates above are yet to be fully confirmed - should check details closer to July (except for TeleFest, that's pretty much on 3/4 Sept as posted).

Nup, just saw it on the Mt Buller website calender. I presumed it'd be the same format as last year.

    Bit early in the season?

Another long walk at Stirling [IMG]

Visited Charlotte Pass for the first time this summer. You New South Welshmen have got it easy - we have to work to make Bogong or Feathertop.

what's the buller/stirling festival like tho? Is it just two days of tele skiing, are there demos, is it a big group trip between the two mountains??
If I'm free I'd like to go up either way.

Believe some were held in the 90s, can't comment on those.

Last year Sat was at Stirling: free lessons, demos, displays - good stuff. Sun was at Buller - didn't make that tho search the forum for comments. Some were disappointed.

Seems we have to create a community of tele-turners operating within the yo-yo resorts ;-} Can't be too hard; I ride motorbikes - everyone stops and yarns (except the Hardly riders).

Hotham ski school mentioned something of the sort last weekend but couldn't provide an exact date.

They mentioned that recommencing public tele lessons (eg. lifts & lesson as a package) is a chicken and egg-type problem and that so far the nos. have not really been sufficient to encourage expenditure etc. Hopefully this belief will turn 180deg soon! [IMG]

So did telemania occur on July 16 as per the calendar at the start of this thread? I was down there that week & nobody mentioned it. And if it didn't is Telemania 2 on Aug 6?

I know a little about the Hotham one...I believe it is being organised or co ordinated by a dude I used to work with...Colin Kneebone (Buller/Stirling Telefest) knew about it...

Yep, Telemania #1 did happen. A very intimate affair for those that attended.

Telemania #2 is still for Saturday 6th August.

A bit of a late post but made it to Telemania II on the 6th - only 6 people turned up which was a bit of a pity - always nice to see lots of telewhackers zooming down the hill. Still it made for a good workshop with lots of individual attention. Cosmic Carl and Richard who works at Alpsports in West Ryde were the instructors and I found both good. Looking forward to Telefest!
