I'm keen to hear if anyone has had experience with lessons or resorts that tend to have a reasonable about of telemark and potentially BC in Europe (esp, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and potentially Italy). I have friends in Germany, Switzerland and my cousin has an annual ski trip in Austria but I'm keen to hear if any of the areas have more teleing than others as none of my friends there Tele. There is some fabulous video of traditional lurks in Italy/Tyrol area, but I'd love to get some lessons in an area that is low key and has some reasonably gentle/more beginner level slopes. I'm aware of Wengen (CH) as one option but be interested to hear of anyone's experience. Here's dreaming in lock down....sighs....

(Apols mods, if this is in the wrong place and should be in travel, but was more interested in the tele aspects)

This would be better in the Travel - Europe forum.

There are plenty of backcountry opportunities in the Alps with instruction and guiding, but it is almost exclusively AT. Telemarkers are pretty rare there. You would need to head up to Norway for that.

What Heinz says but you do see a few dropping the knee at the resorts that are popular with scandos, I've had a few days with telemarking Finns and Dutch at les grandes montet. I'm sure the norges are around though.

My legs don't have the strength to tele euro sizes LOL

I haven't seen tele instructors advertised/offered but that stuff rarely is, I'm sure you'd find someone somewhere but.... Good luck

The larger resorts have group off piste education week courses for reasonable cost imo. Go somewhere glaciated for the right info on that business as it opens so much more

I go nothing further to @Telemark Phat 's suggestions.

Apart from noting telemark is active in France as well.

Plenty of telemark instructors here in France. I'm in La Clusaz where you can book telemark lessons and hire equipment if you don't want to bring your own. Given it's growing in popularity again throughout Europe, I'd guess most resorts can deliver. Hintertux in Austria even had a telemark workshop event this year, so if that's anywhere near your family and friends, you could head there.
