Hey guys, Just a quick note to update everyone on the progress of the terrain park.. We've been issues a grant of authority by PWS to run the park for a trial in 2012! This is a massive step forwards, and a first for Tassie.. We've also launched a new website at http://benlomondterrainpark.com.au - all of our latest news and ramblings will get posted to there, but we'll also try and update this thread every now and again with gossip/reviews of the latest True Blood series. We've also got a facebook group going; https://www.facebook.com/groups/186314344831332/ - please come and join! We'll be posting updates and stuff to that as well, so it's a great way to keep in touch (and we can also use it as an indicator of support for the terrain park, so please join up!) And finally, we've just started construction of the first round of features! We've got five boxes underway, with rails and other stuff to follow.. So, it should be an exciting year for the Ben! Groomers, snow guns and a terrain park! Almost like a bought one
Hey Tez, When are you planning on getting them up to the mountain, I'm heading up from ulverstone for the Bender weekend if you need anyone to take any of them up? Talk soon Bezza.
Hi Bezzer, Thanks for the offer but were hoping to get them up sooner. If that doesn't happen we may need your help! Cheers
Hey kids! As you may have noticed from the frenzied activity on this website (http://benlomondterrainpark.com.au) and social media etc, we have been hard at work getting the terrain park installed and in place up the hill, ready to open this season! Â The only thing we are waiting on is snow! This was taken on Tuesday, 18/7/2012 - There's a pitiful 5-10cm down, but it's more than we had last night! Â There is a small amount of snow forecast later in the week with this weekend looking clear and sunny. Â In the spirit of letting you guys know exactly what's going on - the terrain park and fencing is in place, however it needs modifications this week to bring it into line with the mountains safety expectations. Â We expect all the work to be done on Friday, with final inspections being carried out Friday afternoon. Â Everything being fine and dandy, the park will receive clearance to open at that point. However - and this is a killer; the park can't open unless the mountain is - all riders need valid lift tickets for public liability insurance. Â So, even though the features will be on the hill and we'll have a little bit of snow, we still need to wait for the mountains opening day and the tows to be running for the park to be open. Â Which is a bummer, but hopefully Huey smiles on us and we get a bit of a dump and can open this weekend! Â Never fear; we'll keep everyone updated as we get more information this week, but we wanted to let you know the current state of things..
Hey guys, the terrain park will finally be open to the public this saturday! (weather permitting) Spread the word! http://benlomondterrainpark.com.au/2012/08/opening-day/
