What the hell is going on? Crazy good start to the season going on out there. Next week looking nuts.

Did I sleep through 2 months and have woken up in late July?

This is reminding me of what Winters in years gone past used to feel like, it's nice right?

The weather has turned feral in Melb.
Team Bears did a rollerblade but we hardly made progress into the westerly .....
It was dry for most of our morning.
But it’s pissing diwn in Glen Iris now and its blustery wind.

If this hits the Hotham Rd it will get closed very quickly !

End of EC run is into a 10-12th Jun system

GFS doesn’t mind it at all.

Looking like the next period to watch IMO.

I seem to remember POW saying around 9th June was a period to watch a while back.

Bit earlier actually; back on the 23rd May
    ;)

Admittingly, it has flattened & slowed a bit so more like the 10-14th now.
Models likely to be a little more gun-shy on this period, with more ridge influence IMO. Still looks ok, but nothing like this past week.

And one for keepsake... 23-27th June (ish)

GFS, so make of it what you will:

Currently observed between continental South America & South Africa (it's building and looks big):

I think EC and CMC did pretty well. GFS joined late to the party but was good from 174h from recollection.

    Don't encourage it ;)

Anyhow, been very gloomy all day in Melbourne
Looking at the radar there's been a consistent flow of showers coming up out of the Strait and should be giving LM and BB some more moisture. I see BB has collected 18mm since 9am

6 degree overnight low forecast in Brisbogan tonight.

I've already heard a few reverse cycle systems fire up in my building. People gonna shit. LOL

Broke the May min temp record at the Penrith AWS this morning. 1.3c (Edit: make that 1.0c) degrees which beats the old mark by 0.7c. Nice to see some cold records go for once.

I'm doing the Marathon out there tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to standing in that cold at the start line.

^ Who am I kidding, I'm not looking forward to running it full stop.

    Or going to Penrith...

Plenty of those cold overnight records went last year (particularly around the central tablelands).

Very brisk - this new house of ours is a fridge

Friends I just wanted to let you know that all my planning paid off.

We arrived at Falls Creek at around 4pm rising up through a sea of cloud, we unpacked and I dragged my partner off for a photo down the valley and asked him to turn around so I could compose the photo. I hit record, got down on one knee and asked the question - yes was the answer :)

In terms if obs - it's mild, 3c with plenty of snow around. We'll go for a treck tomorrow and share some photos.

Went for a ride this morning in toowoomba. Cold enough to turn the water in my bidon a little slushy. -4 for most of the ride, warming up to a tropical -1 as the sun rose. .

Monday is the beginning of the next potential snowfall period, and could feature prefrontal.
