I'm keeping an eye on Marble Bar and its 1923/4 record of 160 consecutive days over 100degF (37.8c) - Oct 31 - Apr 7.

The last sub-100F day was Nov 23. So May 1 is a date to keep in mind. Note that the summer of 1923/4 was notorious for its failed tropical monsoon (similar, although worse, than this summer).

All of April above 100F will be a big ask. Other than 23 Nov, the next-most-recent sub 100F was 26 October. 35C is forecast for next Monday so that might be it.

On a couple of my work trips to canberra last year i got to experience walking to work in sub zero temperatures. As geeky as it is I've always wanted to walk to work in below freezing temps and i relished every moment of it. To that end, winter is my favourite time of the year in CBR for me ;);)

Cold night in Tassie !... Cressy 166m in the Midlands got down to -1.9, which from what I can find in the coldest March temp on record for that location. Last one was -0.1 in 2012.

That's a remarkable change from early March!

Meanwhile, Queensland cooked again yesterday. Amberley smashed its previous March record with 41c yesterday. Inland Australia is fried.

Which is just fkn' bizarre according to latest global models. Wreaks of divergence.
Exclusively, AXS-R is all in after midday tomorrow though. @Donzah is up for a good hosing.

EC Loves an evening shower tomorrow, but hardly a deludge:

Friends, I have some exciting news.

This year is going to be the coldest winter ever and we are heading into an iceage. Yes it's that time again, the daily mail has posted their yearly article from none other than our friend David Taylor, talking about how terrible this winter will be for Australia.

I guess it didn't happen last year as he predicted, so why not try again this year and then next... and the next... and the next.

Article is linked here if you are in need of some laughs.

Should see some good TS development in the Sydney/Illawarra region this afternoon.
Plenty of moisture to act as the fuse.
Do like the low level directional shear too.

The confluence of instability looks to be between Goulburn & Point Perpendicular this afternoon IMO.

Got the lot right now including super heavy rain mixed with small hail. I’ve been laying stone and concrete.:(....
