Had a cell go through kew - canterbury an hour ago. Saves me watering tonight.
Now warm and muggy.
Might be a chance for a little more if that cell that popped up over Melton-Footscray holds.
Still 35 here on the way down from 37.7
Well done on today BOM
Up in Blackheath this weekend. Weather is beautiful but SDS is in full swing .
A run of hot days in early March is a big deal?
In about 1994 I mixed up a batch of homebrew over the second last weekend of April, expecting it to bubble away steadily for a week and be ready to bottle the following weekend. We had a week of 30+ degree days, the water kept blowing out of the airlock and the brew was finished in 3 days flat. Not having the time to bottle midweek I chucked a couple of sachets of bentonite in and let it fine out until the weekend.
Not the best batch I ever brewed, but definitely the clearest.
STW up for Victoria
Pissing down in Adelaide. V8 supercar race on slow.
Was up at falls this afternoon. You could see storm clouds approaching and even some lightening, but still quite distant
So AXS got sick of all this nothing weather this morning and is calling a bomber at +240 hours.
*It's really sad that im looking +240.
Bit damp overnight in Melbs.
Was quite surprised when I heard the rain start falling before midnight last night.
Gon make it muggy later
There is plenty of moisture in the air, just the uppers are f**ked.
Once decent trigger and it could go banana's, much like it did in SA yesterday.
Fingers crossed we get something to push this heat away, the upper divide folk must be just about at wits end.
This not helping things on the East Coast either.
West Kiewa had no rain over weekend....and it was bloody hot ..some observable lightening at a distance but no rain at all...
keep your fingers crossed it rains soon otherwise they will be serious fire problems shortly....
ground is "audibly dry....makes noise like corn flakes"....forest fuel drying out at alarming rate now....
winds light most of time over weekend....
Yep, we're over it. Feels like we're living in Bourke NSW atm. On the bright side - EC is hinting at a possible Autumn break (looks tropical in origin) in 9 days time.....
These have been coming and going on all models for over a week, but nothing hung in there for more than a day or two.
Still, it's perhaps a sign it's trying to turn.
its relentless here in the gong
Its been the same forecast everyday
horrible to do anything physical in
Yeah I went for a swim saturday
water was 23
EC today is suggesting Thursday early AM could see some decent troughy falls in the SE.
Need 26 deg to sustain a Tropical Cyclone.
An ECL also could develop to be rather interesting one of these days if SST's linger up around there..
So, weather isn't perfect?
Its boringly perfect
Perth weather. Sunny one day, sunny for the next 123 days ...
yeah, we have our own fremantle doctor as well.
Looks stormy to me.
If its going to be hot and humid, it may as-well storm along with it
still 37 here, on its way down from 40.
getting mighty sick of it
forecast: 38, 37, 35, 36 with a late shower - at last, 34,31
overnight mins 21 or 22 all the way
Lucky you currawong , that river you got in Albury always makes it a tad cooler than surrounding districts. Thought I would check temp on the back of you saying it was starting to cool , yep your right its dropped from 41.8 to a very liveable 39.6.
the river here is actually the Kiewa, but same principle I suppose
Sorry currawong , in an earlier post you mentioned the Albury Temp forecast so I naturally put 6 and 7 together and somehow came up with 38 for an answer. Sigh you can only get it wrong so many times before you eventually get it right
understandable assumption. Albury forecast is the best guide to Mt Beauty - but I sometimes also consult Wangaratta, Falls Creek (for precipitation) and even Beechworth (mild altitude) to get a range that Mt Beauty will probably fall in
I'll take my 35 and dry over the sticky 27 or so we had at Nelson Bay on the weekend.
You lot are making me glad I'm in Perth.
First time for everything I guess.
It's hard to describe just how badly the atmosphere wants to drop all this moisture that's above us onto us, but it cant because there's no trigger.
And that seems to be the difference between this March and March 2010 when the last El-Nino broke down. Back then there was a rapid drop in upper temps and BANG - floods, supercells, hailstorms..... and that drought ended.
Must have rained a bit in the CBD, roads were all wet when I got here. 90% humidity and warming up rapidly.
A chance of some action this afternoon.
And again tomorrow (coastal NSW as well)
Thursday, right across the SE
Looks to continue right through to Saturday afternoon.
Has been said numerous times, but it has that sticky feel outside that you get with stormy days.
Hopefully something can trigger it later
That was just everyone sweating.
Looks like the hot weather has made it into the Melbourne basin. Melb and Essendon Airports now up to 36c with humidity to boot.... Now you'll know what we've had to endure for the past week.
On the treck to St Kilda road from docklands this morning it rained from about 7:45 - 8:05 or so. Nice big heavy drops at times but all very much a tease.
Now it's just sticky and warm down on St kilda road.
Impressive apparent temp in the city at present - Dry bulb temp of 35.6c, Dew point of 16c, apparent = 36.2c.
Let's see how high it can go.

Fascinating diff b/n air flowing over water (NW side of the bay) vs air over land (NE side) http://www.baywx.com.au/melbtempnow.html…
It has cracked 40 in Tullamarine, Essendon and Morrabin.
Must be something about the airports?
Couple of images from this morning.
Interestingly it hung around till lunchtime before burning off.
And one from early on
