Season opener for me was a day up on Spion Kopje Sunday (yesterday)
Not as much cover as I thought there was going to be.

Last year @Scrap and self came across a group of uni types drilling holes in the ice and bed of Blue lake. Couple of weeks ago I met one of the scientists at ANSTO that then analyzed the cores, sweet as.

It took me 3 days! Given the 6 foot track marathon is done in just over 3 hours now and is only 10km shorter it shows how hard the K2K is in comparison. I could only manage the 6 foot marathon in 5:45hrs. Good effort from these guys.

Nice set up, I've been looking at getting a split board but looking costly. If you don't mind can I ask how much the whole set up cost you? Including skins

About 2k including skins bindings and pucks.
    1050 board, 600 bindings, 100 pucks, 250 skins
Could have probably got it cheaper if i bought off shore, but I like to support local

If I had my old completely selfish life-work/life balance situation, I'd currently be skinning to the top of the northern Ramshead to drop the colouir and spend the day in the best aussie pow BC zone there is. From what I read on swellnet I suspect @SAsurfa is doing that right now ;)

But luckily my business case to go surfing tomorrow has got up, the family might even come :)
Every chance the snow will be off by tomorrow, there'll be pockets of goodness, but not carte blanche like today.

Mates already out on the main-range and it looks epic. I'm smashing out work at Jindy and meeting them late arvo for an overnight camp. Hoping there's still some sweet lines tomorrow!

First big day of the season. 20km, 2000m vertical change. Needed to test the body, still not 100% after crashing in japan in february.

Bootpacked/skinned from GAR - brandy creek trail - paling spur - around the headwaters of bundara river.

Day pack weight sooo much lighter with new skis and bindings, and much easier walking in tlt7s.

Clearly paling spur is rarely used. Overgrown and not the easiest to follow at times.

Plenty of snow above 1600m on bhp. However needs a top up, otherwise itll melt off and bushes will poke thru. Needs more snow to weigh them down.

The views from the 1700m knoll near youngs hut my god everybody should see that under snow.

Last 5km were full trudge mode. Got back in the dark.

Mega views of feathertop / hotham complex.

    Coverage in youngs hut area

Victorian approaches. Always a river to cross

    Great views from paling spur

On the website it says "eliminating 80% of condensation". What is your experience?

They certainly do reduce condensation, 80% maybe wishful thinking.
    Certainly increase the warmth factor.

@SAsurfa - good to see you getting a hard time om Swellnet about choosing snow over surf weekend just gone :). Saturday looked good on the range, but would've been a bit windy on Sunday, definitely was in Queanbeyan, although interestingly there wasn't much difference in the wind obs between Thredders top and Cbr airport ;)
