I’ve been meaning to reply for a while and was reminded when i looked at today’s elevation & heart rate overlay. All inbounds at Perisher.

Also this overlay from night ski at Perisher that was posted in the Perisher Chatter thread.

Peakbagging. 1500m+ peaks in the Territory.

Think Ive only missed two. Mount Ginger Ale is not known to me. Mistaken for Gingera? only its nealy 100m lower.

Any other ACT or NSW walkers bagged the majority?

Mount Bimberi aka Bimberi Peak (1913m) must be recorded as a NSW summit, despite sitting on the border like many others in the prev list.

Got a crayola to confirm, my OSM map shows the peak in NSW but the contours say ACT. Peak marks are almost always out on OSM.

Ginger Ale is the peak that lies between Blackfellows gap and Rolling Ground Gap. See pic. Not named on any current maps. I’ll have a look tomorrow through my collection of old maps.

I’m missing Burbidge and Mt McKeahnie.

Some screen caps from Six Maps, the NSW gummint online Spatial Info System... shows the peak as in the ACT by a metre or two. Who cares, really. :D

1,2,3,4 ,6,7,8, 9,13, 17, 18, 19 will need to check the others... plus Bimberi and Coronet which I figure must be close to next on the list.

It does look as if the intention was to have the corner of the boundary at the peak but that might have got lost over the years.

Edit, it looks like the overall intention was to have the boundary on the watershed.

Gudgenby Nature Reserve, later Namadgi NP, was definitely formed on the crest of the western ranges, with the eastern flanks of all those peaks (Bimberi included) forming the 'western wall' of the Cotter catchment: Corin, Bendora and Cotter Dams.

I think the precise positioning of Bimberi Peak on the topo maps, then other data sets like legislated land titles... is not a precise fit. I suspect that is the case all over the State, and the country. :)

Lunchtime. Carbs are important for ski touring; best I have 2 beverages to ensure I have adequate energy for this afternoon

I had a huge spill over the handle bars today. I face planted in a spectacular fashion. I was flying down a BC XC hill in the Baw Baw N.P. and then the next thing I knew I was eating snow. Thankfully the snow was soft and deep and NOT boiler plate ice.

I also fell backwards into a melting spring B.C. stream with my skis off while stepping off the snow pack onto a slippery wooden bridge. It was an ordeal .I was lucky my friend was with me to help me get out because I was stuck on my back in the drink with my legs in the air. That was a bit much but having crashed on skis already a few times during the day I become accustomed to being perpendicular :-0 on some kind of frozen or melting water. I was lucky not to be seriously hurt , just shaken not stirred. I skied out back to the car, 90 min.s away over the summit and back down after that so the show must go on!.
    ;-P

Didn’t look too bad, way better than last Wednesday. It was deepish soft serve over ice which I felt would peel too much on us. Manageable condition but we felt conservative & took the shoulder to ensure the work to fun ratio was in our favour. The shoulder was a little funky as it turned out.

So I grabbed some Komperdell touring poles off the shop floor, they’re really nice, but in my haste I didn’t realise they didn’t have a foam lower grip until it was too late.

What sort of material can I stick on them to do this job? Tennis racquet grip? Bike bar tape?
