Honestly one of the best snow sport films I've ever seen. The quality of skiing, camera shots and editing and the lines themselves. Incredible!

Wow that was cool. I liked the voice over by Dr Myles Munroe too about time, very powerful statements.

The photography in ski films these days has gone to another level.
I really like this one from Black Crows. Little bit left of centre with a Euro/Scandi perspective. And then there's the terrain.

A little off track from our pure, adrenalin hit short films, this new trailer looks like it would be quite funny.

Downhill - the film. Showing here in regional Qld next week????

I'm an old curmudgeon I guess. I gave up watching at 4:30 when I still hadn't seen a shot with four or more linked turns. Had to wait until 2:50 to see three turns in a row. Yes I know artistic expression has different values for different viewers, but for me this is the worst of skiing: contrived shots, all show. Tricks, hucks, spins, grabs and no real skiing. Great back country snow and terrain but they spend almost all the time jumping off stuff. I shredded some great powder this season and actually experienced the terrain and snow.

    Is this a comedy?!
I thought it was going to be an English language remake of brilliant 2014 Euro film Force Majeure - not a comedy but seering analysis of a marrriage where fault lines appear during a family ski holiday in France.
I guess seeing the stars of new film are who they are it sure looks like it would be a comedy...
Anyone know if two films are related?

During this stay at home period, I am watching 100 snow films in 100 days to stay sane. Up to day 33 at the moment.
My favorite so far has been Alignment by Eric Jackson, a film about snowboarding, fly-fishing and finding alignment in the mountains:

Looks like they are related, and definitely looks like a comedy, especially with those two as the lead characters. Hadn’t heard of this one. Looking forward to watching it.

I haven’t seen the Euro film but I think they were going for the “seering analysis”, and completely failed in that objective. I saw no insight into human behaviour. It sure wasn’t funny, Miranda Otto aside.

    A definite avoid that one

Yep watched it the other night with the family. We weren't sure whether we were supposed to laugh, cry or scratch our heads.

We liked that we saw snow and people skiing and it was in Europe. That was the take away. *

This sums up what i love about skiing/riding and gets me pumped. The previous is enough for a quick hit but the full movie is awesome too. I love the soundtrack as well.

So I finished watching 100 snow films in 100 days on Thursday.
It was a very rewarding experience, and seemed to really go quickly in the last month (maybe because some snow did actually start to fall!).
Anyway, checkout the website for all 100 films from each day, or just read my last post for the top 10 (Which you should all watch!)

I just watched Alignment. That is an excellent production, snow and steelheading. What's not to like? I've fished the Skeena and its fabled tributaries the Bulkley, Morice and Kispiox. Stunning country and so much room for everyone. Really enjoyed the movie and its laid back, soulful approach.
