Fine on Chrome on iphone & iPad.
OK that sounds really hard, and totally incomprehensible
Enjoy the beer
Safari no good.
Wifi issues *might* still be DNS cache related, depending how long ago the DNS change was made.
We are now on a new IP address and your wifi service is not updating It’s dns as quickly as telstra/Optus. Our dns entry had a 24hr cache setting, which when you know you plan to change IP you will set to a cache of 5 min or less a week prior.
It got changed around 4am this morning so for some it will be erratic connection for a day or so until the ip change flushes through all the public networks.
So it wasn't the sandshoe blowout we suspected....
I'll see myself out
Friggin DNS issues.
Google DNS updated for me before telstra.
He's been hollowed out by the experience. Currently filling his empty shell with alcohol.
I noticed we all have our old avatar from months ago as well.
No twirly birds - quite liking that...
Too much dribble content for the server to handle?
I saw that on pornhub......
Always a great way to fill the void in your life.
Alcohol is always the answer.
Unless your name is Covid.
Always dangerous when you need to reach for the ipconfig and netsh commands.
yep, the avatar directory is from an older backup in git - collateral damage.
The fact I look like Julie is quite off putting
The best of both worlds
my avatar is from last summer
I had 11 yesterday.... bloody forums
banking app and head says damage
Though this reason would have been preferred
Sadly, quite true.
That moment, when you realise what you have done and your heart sinks...
Me, 5:15am Sat morning.
I have no idea what all that means - all I know is that I got up early (04:30) on Sat morning as usual, and started my normal daily routine - emails, skim IG and then see what's happening on Active Topics on the forums and was met with living hell in Lockdown city. No ski.com.au - had to actually venture out into the world and see what was up. Please don't do that again - I'm quite happy in my inner eastern 'burbs bubble.
I'm kinda glad computer stuff doesn't just go wrong for me.
In a morbid kind of way it's reassuring when even the experts have trouble. Thank you for your efforts over the weekend, hope you get to have a commensurate break this week.
Nah, he just ****ed up.
I actually sent the comment to @Richard on LinkedIn and was wondering if he’d “get” the reference
Wait did I read that right
You had to rewrite your code to be compatible with a new version of PHP before you could get the site back up?
Holy sh#. I understood all of that, and that is one hell of an outage. So sorry mate.
on a Mac?
it’s ok on my phone with wifi off, can’t do anything with ipad because of the wifi issue
someone on fb suggested to turn house wifi on and off but I haven’t tried that
Might work (or not). Otherwise, change the upstream DNS in your modem from "ISP supplied" to "126.96.36.199" "188.8.131.52". Or wait a few more hours.
I hope your father is doing ok.
Can you fix the snow making at Thredbo as well please
that’s not within my technical ability so I’ll just wait
not without trying
the options on the router’s own page don’t include those above
and get rid of the Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne while you're at it please
Im just glad it wasnt next weekend with the snowstorm due!!
Bub is getting her 6 week vax on Tuesday morning, that's when we were planning to start heading up......
But we're up to PHP v7.4 now.
A little bit of downtime never hurt, the main thing is you got the server rebuilt/back up!
My avatar is still there
Wash your mouth out with soap.
Ha. Didn’t know how to go back.
FYI I can only access the site in my work iPhone on wifi.
personal android phone nadda
I notice wikiski.com is still sitting on the to-do list. I wonder how much traffic it gets?
Downtime because of a problem with the server - honestly that's the best kind of downtime, because it's in the control of the server administrator (Richard). Plus it was productive, ultimately.
Constantly hitting refresh for two days is not productive.
At least it was only down for the weekend. I don't know what I would have done it if was still down Monday morning...
yep, we were supposed to be heading up Friday for 10 days
