Just under a train
Visited friends out in Sydney’s West yesterday. Was 40 plus and not much better this morning. Trip back to the mountains was hot till we drove into this on Lake George. Temp dropped from 37 to 20 degrees. Poured rain then we drove out of it..... temp back to 33!!
By Berridale temps were down to 11.5 degrees and raining. Stopover in Jindy now at a nice 12 degrees. That’s better!!
A few very close CTG strikes here in the eastern Subs, light/mod rain but the charges were worthy of severe.
12 degrees is a bit f a joke at this time of year. I think top of 30 is Goldilocks zone for summer. Hot enough to feel like summer, without being oppressive.
My ideal temp in the mountains is 25 degrees if there’s no wind.
If you’re down with the flies, you can have 25
minus 5 in the mountains.
25 on the coast.
Neighbours pool must be 28-30 degrees C without heating. Lovely temperature to stay in for hours. Bit of evaporative cooling by sticking you wet bits out.
Kiama has copped it
Impressive line of flash.
Yeah getting smashed, power been out for 3 hours.
Lovely cool rain in Tuggeranong ACT atm.
Just had a nice 2mm in dubbo and temp drop to 27. Feels cold now.
At last, cool, wet, a little foggy and 12 degrees. It's been a hot 10 days in the shed.
From earlier in the week, out Dubbo way:
Below 20C in Sydney this morning, feels glorious.
45.8C on the highway going to Newcastle yesterday, helping the boy move furniture into his new uni sharehouse.
14.4C at home now.
Gotta love the scared wife telling old mate to get in the car as if the dust was going to eat him.
We had another little dust event on the change last night - but nothing like that.
Albion Park still flooded.
Won’t be good for the air filter!
Beautiful day in Melb..sunny warm still....in Gisborne
Another Southerly change due through Sydney and Southern coastal NSW on Wednesday AM.
Should be through Sydney ~10/11am.
We may see some cells pop around CT's and BM's by the afternoon, thanks to some mid-level instability (trough based).
Sydney MAY see some activity off the BM's by mid-arvo, where there's maturity in the cells.
Showers, however, are inevitable for the Sydney basin.
Brings a return to light northerly winds for the Sydney Coast.
Bloody Marble Bar is at it again & feeding heat across the continent.
Really need a big tropical system to come & sort this early summer mess out.
Oh Marble Bar the place for a “fun run”!
Minor flare up in the Lower Hunter RN.
Radar picking up a 25mm fall amongst it.
STW up for NE Victoria and NSW
Looks humid AF all week out here West of Sydney. Currently 32/23 in Penrith, not much better up the escarpment.
Nice cells coming over the range at the moment. Thunder, lightning and some solid rain at 1100 ASL - 10 mins worth here but welcome..... I expect Jindy is getting a fair dose as well......
EDIT: 7 mm in that 10 mins
Holly Molly !
Thunder, solid rain and ground squalls in Tuggeranong ACT.

Wearing a light jumper in Melbourne today. What a nice diversion from the heat.
Looks like we had a touch of rain but not enough to do a lot
BOM Forecast for Sydney today was 25 its 29 already at 11am more storms this arvo too
Perhaps go prepared!Could be a hail storm perhaps!
Wow. Doing a whole lot better than I had perceived. Especially given we’re in El Niño alert and off the back of a +ive IOD event in spring.
Hunter Region starting to flare up.
mizzle / drizzle down Sth Co last hour or so....
Funnily enough, we've had the lightest, tinniest, weirdest mizzle (almost like spitting) all day under COMPLETELY blue, clear skies here along coastal Sydney. It's almost like low-level virga - unregisterable precip.
Very humid and you can see it looking up/down the coast.
It's been very odd.
greybird since around lunchtime.
only light n low but cool and v humid in the 90's
BoM's 2018 Climate Summary.
