Only decent option of some points IMO (given you'd probably be scored down for not hitting a rail, is to gap to the down of the flat-down. Solid gap.
Or just tech-hit a gap-to of the down of the DFD in the middle.

My knees hurt just thinking of those landings.
I'd love to see just a simple massive fat drawn out 3 or 5 on one of those.
Personally I always found the bigger you go the harder it is to slow it all down-though I never went THAT big...

Just been watching a bit of the snowboarding.
The rail section hasn't been used to it's potential, just trying to keep their speed for the jumps.
Some of the judging is a bit weird too.

Given the guys struggled through the wind and course yesterday and today, I don't hold much hope for the Women getting through the whole course without injury let alone bobbles...

While the Kiwis mop up after Ex-TC Gita, their darkhorse athlete takes pole position heading into the Final on Saturday...
97.50 on his second run with a switch 1620. It's clear the judges want to see clean grabs and lots of spins...

    Full run down here

haha yeah, I kinda felt like they built the big air arena as an after thought - like it's tucked away in some distant car park. Then I realised it's run-out is the up-slope to the ski-jumping landing... Weird.

The whole thing looked like it had bugger all atmosphere.

Hey guys, I need to get my cork terminology right and I got some questions.

So I know a cork is when you spin backwards off-axis and at some point you feet are higher than your head. If this happens twice in the air it's a double cork, three times a triple cork etc.

Now if you do a complete backflip rotation while spinning and your feet go directly over your head while spinning, that's a rodeo (or aka "back full" what the formal aerials competitors do). On the other axis, a forward cork is a bio spin, and a frontflip spin is a misty.

My question is, I swear in some of the events at the Olympics, guys are doing vertical or straight-axis spins, with no cork I can see (eg Carlos Garcia Knight switch backside 1620), but the commentators are still calling them out as "triples" as in triple cork!? Am I mis-hearing the commentary, or just missing the feet-above-head moments in the trick!?

CGK’s run is not corked as you say, it’s a Switch backside 1620. It’s super tech mainly because he maintained a reasonably flat spin on such a number of rotations, I loved it... I’ve seen a number of other competitors having a bit of dig at the judging and not sure if it distinctly aim at CGK’s run, but I personally reckon his run was siiick!
Not sure where you heard the commentators mention cork but I didn’t hear it called like that.
HERE is a link to his run with commentary (3rd video down).

Buggered if I can count the spins when they do cork. They said Ana Gassers last jump was a 10 but I struggled to count a 7. Or does 1 cork 3 equal a 7 because it's doubled, kinda tongue in cheek :)

My post above is probably a bit misleading because I know she did 2 corks on her winning jump, but they were more like 2 backflips to me with no spin rather than a 10, or even a 7. Mind you I only saw it once last night, maybe with a quick replay straight after.

When I hear a pom commentating surfing, snow boarding (or any alternative sport for that matter) I immediately think 'under-qualified' and prolly half pissed in a pub. Prolly makes me 'racist' by Aus 'classification' but fk-it, for some reason it's just weird.

That 'cause it's his field specialty (beyond cricket). But having run an alternative snow sports business for over 12 years, he is the man; in my opinion.
He's been in the ski/snowboarding business for about 15 years so I reckon he has a good clue. I've personally dealt with him so I might be bias...

I dare you to google recent dealings of Jay Onley who used to be Aus's best commentator in that field. It hasn't been a pretty year for Jay, unfortunately...

You do grabs with your 360? Obviously 540 might be good if you can land your 180 switch on a similar size jump

I've never done night skiing in Perisher..
Is the park open at night??

I've had an idea about an edit for a long time.
I want it to go something like this.

-It all starts at the crack of dawn up at possums mountain bike tracks in Wollongong escarpment.
My bro and mates charge on the bikes..

-I film them (well my mate does) and one of them has a go pro mounted to handle bars.

The go pro time lapses the ride back to my house and as he rides up to the driveway a skateboard just rolls out in front of him.

-My filmer mate is a gun skater so I will use him as the skater but keeping the look of the same person with the POV go pro.

    - He skates down to the beach and walks down onto the sand and the boards, etc are already laying there.

CBF to explain the rest but in the end I'm looking to do
MTB, Skating, Surfing, Dirtbikes, Wakeboarding, Fourwheel driving and Skiing all in one day and film it..

    *Sparknotes*
Is the park open at night?
I'm looking to make the edit of a lifetime.
I do not own a boat, motorbikes etc. I have friends and family who do..

Does snowboarding have anything similar to SLVSH?
    Same concept as SKATE.
Skiing really has taken a lot from skating but the more we look at skating the better IMO

    ehh. Probably not.
I've been loving the new wave skiing style.
As we know it's called freesking but slopestyle comps don't seem to be as 'free' as they once were.
Same thing with the boarding, it's just repetitive.
New wave style has caused a lot of hate but it's just guys having fun.

I personally think it's really cool and relatable- I will never be able to switch 14 unlike some of this stuff.
