    Cattleman's Rail Jam Tonight.
Not sure if the link will work but here's the LIVE feed, HERE.

Pretty average rail jam I reckon. Not many stomps and just a f around for the boys. Not sure where the girls are at...

Solid build for sure. Good on Hotham.

Opinion gripe: I am no fan of parks directly under a chair, such a huge distraction unless you're the extroverted, trumpet blowing pro. It's hard enough thinking about the job at hand when you're 10's of feet off the knuckle.

    What the **** is this?

I've been riding a lot of park this season. Landing my first 3's and getting more confident on rails.
I can hit almost every feature in Leichhardt, I just have a bad habit of only being able to land switch!
If I try to come of the rail forwards I end up laying in the snow think wtf am I doing wrong.
    Practice. Practice.

At a guess your shoulders are turning up hill continuing with rotation from the direction you jumped onto the rail from. I think as you get more confident committing to the rail you get locked on and keep your shoulders square or rotate them as you choose

Cant speak much for much for skiing (assuming you are) but the general rule to live by if your doing any sort of off axis rotation:
Your shoulders follow your head, and your body will follow your shoulders.
I learnt to control issues like that by doing the movement while I'm riding normally, then the muscle memory kicks in on the feature.

Thats what is happening. It no doubt looks and feels really cool (which is why I started doing it) but now i'm stuck in a rut of only landing switch. Just need to keep skiing rails to iron out the bugs. I am quite happy with my progress this season.

I'm well aware of this from skating/surfing. A mate of mine said to 'just look at the end of the rail'.

Can't speak much for skiing but sounds like perhaps given your progression to 3's you're over rotating at the waist, off the lip.
Warm up with a couple of shifties (zero spin) off a hit or two to train yourself to slightly rotate and bring it back. But yeah, I agree it's all in the shoulders.

Awesome. I still have a dream of doing a good 3 one day, I've given up on boxes and rails. Hopefully I can get 3's on my BMX this summer and it might come more easily on snow after that.

This season I was just trying to hit all the jumps in the Merritts terrain park straight and cleanly, and without rolling down the windows like someone trapped in a room after eating too many baked beans. I could stomp individual jumps but never got the whole set in a row.

    I’ve got 3’s down.
I even balled up and hit the first jump on front valley on saturday. I was happy that I landed cleanly without my arms flapping about. Next step is a 180 off that jump. I’ve got that down pat on all of Leichhardts. Im more interested in rails though, now I can ski through Leichhardt and get a nice rhythm going now that I’ve sorted out my problem of only landing switch.
It’s all progression. And really fun.
My ski days have changed from the odd run through the park to 90% park and the odd blast down the groomers.

What’s happened to the 20ft plus hits in the pipe both ski and snowboard but especially ski, some of the hits are in the finals runs are what I used to get 6-8ft
