Monsoonal in Radelaide this morning. I just snuck out.
Looks like the heat returns next week just in time for me to be working and camping outdoors at Tibooburra.
Just in time for me to get on a plane and go to Japan. All is well.
Little bit of rain tonight/tomorrow morning then some nice (boring) weather for the weekend. At least most of SE Aus got a decent drink last week with the storms.
I'm going to find it VERY difficult to stay motivated this week
had to look up Tobooburra - sure looks islolated how there in far NW NSW - but it has an AWS
Which shows a bit of rain in recent weeks and temps that would leave us coasties for dead in the shade letalone the midday sun.
Will be in the 40's all next week by the look of it. The killer out there is the hot nights, something us dubbonias don't have to deal with. Going to suck more so given the rather cool temperatures of the last week or so.
Luckily i'll be camped somewhere near a 30kVa genset so thinking i will take a portable air conditioner with me for the tent.
Looks like winter stationary highs are not new
Whoa, you'll need a stretcher bed out there to get off the ground.....Tibooburran summers the ground stays hot all night long...like sleeping with the electric blanket on high.

.@BOM_au to axe staff from all regional stations bar one http://ab.co/20vh3fc #weather
Best way to avoid GW, don't measure it?
I assume the work will be taken up by AWS and the like? Maybe it will be compiled back at head office in Perf?
Lets avoid the GW discussion here.
They would have had AWS for a long time now. What do these staff do now? I presume it's stuff the AWS can't do?
Dont be so sure. It's a government job, they could have been sucking up the gravy train for decades before someone audited them and figured it out.
Looked different on the 12z run
Cheers for the tip. Purchased one this arvo.
Legit business expense too!
Now to get me some snow gauging duties. In areas only accessible on skis, and steep slopes. Maybe i could afford that tele setup i've always wanted.
I havent heard many people ask to become disabled before.
yr.no has it cooling down again week after around the 16/17 - long way off to be locked in - but given January - a couple of weeks of summer daze is being well received on the south coast - IMO.
Nobody talking about the Perth heatwave?
Tuesday 42 forecast (41 at 11 am)

That's 4 days running.
Vic BOM expecting a cool week next week, with average temps up to 7C below long term averages.
Been warm out in tibooburra. @GS. Swag on stretcher going well. No breeze tonight so will be a good test.
Have been having late afternoon bath in a drum of water. Very nice way to finish the day.
I'd like to say pics or it didn't happen but dont want bath shots breaking the interweb
Damn hot out here still. Thought today was cooler than yesterday but still managed 42. last night and tonight still 40 odd at 8 pm. About to jump in the drum.
Yep that's hot.
Sleeping ok? We found it took a few nights to acclimatise
Sleeping very well due to stretcher. Has been nice breeze most nights also. Have to get up regularly through the night though for the job. Getting a bit over the alarm noise.
Low 20's and windy today. Got a jumper on and still cool. Bit different to the last week.
Snow in Tasmania
Mt Wellington has a dusting too apparently.
Bucketing down and hailing
The leaves on the trees are now starting to change to their autumn colours in the upper Blue Mtns.
Autumn is by far the best time of the year in Melbourne.
yeah in and around Easter.
Warm sunny days around 20-25C, coolish evenings, happy days. Is usually relatively dry.
Surf usually starts to pump and those stupid arvo seabreeze's start to piss off, making my mid-week after work runs along the beach absolutely stunning
Whereas last night around 8pm, I went out and it started to rain. Was only around 23C but obviously extremely humid. Ended up doing my post run stretches in the rain. Was quite pleasant.
Sadly the rain stopped as I was walking home.
Already up to 34C in town. Not that far off the forecast max (38C).
I went about 6pm and it was perfect, light breeze to cool down on the return run. Pity about tonight though. Will be swimming rather than runnning
38 at Flinders Park.
42 at Avalon & Geelong.
A smattering of 40C through the 'burbs.
What's worrying is the gusty nor-westerly. Strong out at Tulla.

Change is through the 'bool
Jane is saying the cool change should hit around 5pm.
It's already through Geelong.
Just in time for my run at 6:30, hopefully. less heat, more humidity.
Dropped down to 25 at Aireys.
