Dusting of fresh snow @mtbuller ahead of the official opening of mountain bike trails. #snow
MTB festival on this weekend at Thredbo..
i drove back from Wagga to melbourne yesterday arvo/evening and it was interesting to get a handle on how far north the change pushed.
Had a few cells hit Wagga as I left at 4:30, and the storms were kicking up the dust towards Albury. Some great light shows over the ranges, back under 30C as I drove over the Murray, and by the time I pulled into Seymour it was all of 14C.
Then upto to Sydney this weekend.. for some of that perfect Sydney weather.
Melbourne's tops for Saturday and Sunday are 31C.
Sydney's are 26C and 27C.
Much of a muchness, really.
Although if I was going to the beach (but I'm not), I'd prefer 31C.
yeah, but its the vibe.... 26 in sydney is just perfect temp.

Second Day of summer and we have been snowed on! #summersnow #mthotham2015 @janesweather7 @MikeLarkan @TheTodayShow
The vibe is just a euphemism for total bullshit
Meanwhile in SE Qld.
The Daily Telegraph invented the vibe. Sucked in.
Fresh on cradle this arvo
Maybe advantage Adelaide??? We are going for 39°C and 40°C this weekend, maybe that's up into disadvantage territory.
Less than a week ago I was struggling to make snowballs as the snow was too dry up around Fichtelberg in Bavaria and helping scrape ice off the car in a Munich morning of -7°C, its a harsh change for me.
I dont look at weather maps much out of winter but the bom 4 day chart looks interesting from next monday.Loks of heat and instability.
Heater on again tonight, noice.
Meanwhile in North Queensland El Nino is hitting pretty hard. There's still a bit of green around Cairns but no sign of rain. I went down to my old home town of Townsville this week for a bit of a break. In all my 50 plus years I can't remember seeing it so dry. Apparently last week the Townsville City Council area was officially drought declared.
Totally relate to the picture early in the week however we had a change come through yesterday and much cooler now. Storms have been spectacular though between the wet heat.
Chance of storms through southern Victoria and SA later today/ tonight.
Better chance through central Victoria tomorrow.
Really weird setup right at the moment.
Been drizzle, kinda not-so-but-really-wishing-to-be rain the past hour on st kilda road. Drive home to docklands it started to get mildly wetter, roads will probablty be slick before long
*edit* it has now stopped here. Figures.
Very light showers on the ride home. As soon as I got in the garage it really started to rain.
Very unsettled here this morning.
Alternating heavy rain and hot winds, what rain falls evaporating very quickly.
Oh yeh, that flash bang woke just about everyone in Melbourne just now.
Very Steamy. Big clap of thunder and flash of lighting just a moment ago overhead / out towards Williamstown
Radelaide copped a bit last night. Hopefully it comes our way today.
Pretty heavy last 10 mins here in Sandy.
Was light rain the drive to work.
Nice to hear the rain on the roof again.
The bang woke me up also
Belting hard in Dande South and very dark.
ACT region has gone from green to brown in 3 weeks - need rain
Look at dis CAPE:
It's going to take some spark to get things really firing, but if there is enough to get them going they will go hard this arvo. This is a NT monsoon style aero diagram, although they would be transitioning to positive buoyancy 50-100hpa closer to the surface generally.
Its hot and humid.
Not pleasant at all.
These are the days i hope badly we get a storm as reward for putting up with this gross weather.
It's really cooking out there.
Some nice thunder-tops developing, but that wind & sheer might make it hard to develop into storms.
Couple of small but intense cells have appeared between Shep and Euroa.
Bloody dry up there at the moment. Looks like it's early March, not early December.
I feel Vic BOM have just discovered paint.net.
Your tax dollars at work bro.
Yep. Grassfire fuel.
Have not seen it so green out around Braidwood , in my memory , as past couple of months.
Could see it really starting to brown last week when I went up to Cbr.
Coming at ya, @Vermillion
All going to be East today.
Wont be any love for Melb, as usual
Especially at Bayswater.
Bayswater has no love, period.
But but Boronia gets all the rain.
in more interesting news... the atmosphere here is drinkable
Yep - rain dumps has air lifts over the dandies from the W and SW.
Bayswater on the NW side - which is bad for rainfall in Melbourne (Macedon rainshadow)
Cool change just hitting the top of the bay now.
man, love a drawing
Nice gentle rain ATM
