Surpassed even my expectations, as soon as I saw the radar last night I thought we were in for more rain than the models predicted... from that observation I thought 8 to 10mm would be the likely scenario. A lot of places ended up with even more than that.

Steady light rain here in Jindy for the last hour or so. The lake is heading back up again slowly.

BOM cooking up storms tomorrow arvo, 33C before it comes in. AXSR doesnt want a bar of it, AXSG is on drugs and GFS isnt looking that great for it either. Today looks like there will be some good heating too with a N wind strengthening through the day. My GF will be happy it doesnt look like i'll be able to get out for a fish this weekend, the wind looks to be up pretty much all weekend.

GFS CAPE and LI look very strong for 5pm right through Victoria on the 3pm run.
And again Saturday afternoon for central and eastern Vic.

GFS is suggesting around 25mm for this event.

Looking at the models this morning it doesnt look like any of them are really pushing for big storms this afternoon. Most models have rain coming late tonight and somewhere between 10-30mm tomorrow. It is certainly warm this morning (already 24C) and there is little cloud around allowing some good heating, but the wind is also up. The humidity is supposed to really ramp up around 11am-midday so i'll wait until it does (or doesnt) before I make a call on storms. Looks like it might just end up being some good showers tending to rain tonight.

I tend to agree that for this afternoon, it will be 5pm or later for Melbourne.
    CAPE for today / 5pm

    Tomorrow early afternoon looks exciting.

This mornings sounding is not that exciting either, although it does have a slither in positive buoyancy which is something I guess. Nothing like last week though.

Fair enough, LI of -2 for this evening don't suggest significant action, but you never know. Tomorrow promises more action.

Moving quick though. No rainfall recorded in the west of the state. After dark if the wind dies down could be more interesting, there is certainly plenty of energy in the atmosphere.

I think the larger cells missed us here in Clayton. Some refreshing rain, but not heavy by any means.

Rain has just stopped here but looking at the radar we are just a little too far south. This afternoon it looks like it will kick in again for us, some good totals around and CC you're right it was windy early on this morning. A good day to get stuff sorted inside.

Now back in Gippsland, drive home was very wet. 27mm since the storms moved through yesterday afternoon, apparently.

Weird weekend up in Sydney. Morning sea fog which lasted until about 2pm yesterday before leaving a perfect afternoon. Looks like the same again today. Cannot see Manly at the moment, but looking inland appears to be clear. Down at beach level yesterday it was pea soup, but just a few hundred metres inland was blazing sunshine. Haven't seen it like that before.

Tis eery but lovely at the same time.

This week I see a weak front pushing through Tuesday arvo/evening bringing up to 5mm with it (more in some isolated areas) then nice weather from Wednesday arvo through to Friday arvo, when it looks like the trough will begin to kick in again, making for a possibly wet weekend.

Gippsland may see some of the action on Saturday. AXS is suggesting it on this evening's run, considering the way the low is forming I wouldn't be surprised if we get a reasonable amount.

Not that we want it at the moment... I'm just hoping it warms up again in December.

Good steady rain all morning so far in Sydney. I hope it keeps up, I forgot to water my chillies before I left this morn and won't be back for a while.
