On the rainfall front I'm seeing a mention of "heavy falls exceeding 300mm possible" for the NSW mid-north coast this friday/saturday in the BOM forecast. That's huge!

EC indicating rain in Brisbane from early am Thursday to Sunday (am) - non stop

Fair chance that Australia vs Bangladesh will be very weather affected.

There's a reason why the Brisbane test is usually early ...

What does this mean for our expected weather patterns CC?
Any data/connections regarding current Neutral Pacific ocean temps and upcoming snow seasons?

Not sure it means a huge difference. Of course the Pacific ocean temps only account for part of the outlooks here in Australia.
Currently the BOM is showing drier and warmer conditions for couple of months.

Guys, guys, the Snowy was a very big river that now runs at like 3% of natural flows. Flood levels!? A 2.5m spike at McKillops Bridge will barely bother the invasive weeds on the old riverbed.

The current bridge itself is huge and in no danger at any flood level I can conceive of. (the old bridge was tiny in comparison, and remnants can be seen washed up just downstream)

BOM had issued a minor flood warning for McKillops. Of course that is very localized.

As long as flooding is well east of West Kiewa Catchment T.Bears are happy...you don't wont to be there in prolific rain events...

that Barry Way is a favourite of de Bears so good at night without massive illumination of driving lights(leds etc)
first time its like disappearing in a giant black hole..time stops down there say bears...
trip past Mt Macedon this morning....range covered in low cloud...cool little wind...
too cold down here at moment//:p

I was up at the Pinch River on the weekend and the Barry Way in a few parts had some minor washouts with the storms that occurred of Friday/Saturday. With all the rain that happened at MacKillops recently, it would have made for a gnarly drive down the road from Gelantipy!
I agree with smb, the Snowy needs all the 'floods' it can get to remove the weeds that have taken over the sandy beaches. A 2.5m 'flood' isn't a flood, more so a perfect level to paddle. Levels over 3.5m + would be a good start to wash the low lying weeds away.

slight chance Melbourne may get some showers this evening from the rain showing up in the north of the state.

Interestingly enough, it usually does when it comes that way. For some reason the force field effect the NW systems hit doesn't seem to occur.

More substantial rainfall further north - central, heading south, but I have a feeling it will pass west of Melbourne.

Just had 5 minutes or so of reasonably heavy rain. With March fast approaching the worst of potential fire weather may be behind us, happy about that
