AGL plan to permanently moor a floating storage regasification unit at Crib Point in Westernport bay. This unit is a whopping 300m long x 45m wide. With boats coming in and out of the bay the Whales, Dolphins, Seals and other critters that call the bay home are in danger. On top of that the regasification process sucks in 450 million litres of organism rich seawater, chlorinates it and spews out dead water 7 degrees cooler than the ambient temperature.

If you surf at Point Leo or one of the other breaks/Reefs/ Beaches in the Westernport Bay area then please get behind this protest movement to save the ocean and environment from some major damage.

It is GFS exclusive. EC not really into the Southerly pulse. Still... A few feet and offshore is enough.

It was very VERY flat at the Northern Beaches Secret Spot this morning. Photos below from about 6:20am.

A couple of my friends (somehow) surfed up at the ‘Joey 1/2 hour later, but 3 of us had quite a good - small but 100% surfable - session at North Av after I decided the NBSS wasn’t possible.

I didn’t surf yesterday but the water today was if anything even warmer than Wednesday. So it was definitely a grovel, but almost certainly one of the most pleasant grovels I have had.

Oh man, weekend following for east coast, gfs has fallen into line. I'm frothing.
And if I win ozlotto next Tuesday I might charter a flight to my home town in SW Vic for a session next Weds pm. You can only dream.
This is a good season starter snow system but it's a better surf system imo.

Acknowledged - I just use that basic 4x ensemble's from FNMOC and track the long range trends days before posting. Comes with being an inland surfer for 30 odd years. That and I'm a frother once it's over waist high, that way you can't lose :)

I went to The Pines at Westernport this morning having driven down in the rain from Melb.. It was flat. I went to Point Leo and the second reef looked surf able. However the good surf report brought board riders out of the wood work in no time and I felt hemmed in and confined. The Line up had grown from 3 to 13 or so and I got out and went to Crunchie point which was firing and with a SW swell, incoming tide and a steady Off shore wind.
The sets were quite a space apart and one could just chillax and bob up and down on the board like a tea bag
waiting for the next set of
    waves without the crowds.
A local showed me where the channel was located so that
    you can paddle out faster.

I did not manage to catch any waves :-(
but paddling in good conditions where it is not crowded is more fun and relaxing than continually turtle flipping as a
    form of self preservation.
The Take Off Zones at both breaks are small and I would not want to upset anyone who can actually surf well.
The Sun came out as I ate my lunch and watched the swell increase after I had removed my wet suit. Photos are coming soon. These photos were taken in between sets of waves. I was chomping down on my lunch when the most visually impressive waves appeared.

When she came out of the barrel she went half into style arch mode because she was feeling it but then she saw the last section was doable (was treacherous earlier in the day) and thought I've got to whack this to seal the deal!!! So awesome :)

That's where a zone like the Telos comes into its own. Plenty of grey and bald heads in that area. I just wouldn't go back in June or July. Too many boats now, shoulder would be the go.
My 2016 trip wasn't my first Indo experience, I was lucky enough to esky lid 3' Uluwatu in circa '89-'90 when it was still a goat track and you got scootered in.

I had to go to Kawana this morning and passed some nice little waves along the open beach (couple of feet).
On return around 1pm the wind had completely died and it was a complete glass off.
Twas fun this early arv (around Marcus area).
Shared a nice little right with one other.

Sunday was fun. Very busy at Sunrise.

Tempted to not drive down the David Low tomorrow so I don’t have to see what I’ll be missing the next two days.
