South end of the NBSS delivered some small (1'+) but clean - both unruffled surface and surprisingly un-manky water - waves this morning. I had about 90 minutes in the water from a bit after 6am; was still a bit rainy on-and-off but well worth getting wet. I haven't surfed the last few mornings because weather, so was frothing more than usual to paddle out today. I rode my CI Ultra Joe and my friend rode her Christenson fish (which seems to be the fastest grovelling board in the universe). Good energy in the waves, even though it wasn't at all large. My friend and I (who were the only two in the water) both saw some "marine life" - in the form of a middle-sized fin cruising on the surface out near the point - a couple of times within a few minutes so we then came in a bit sooner than we would have otherwise.
