I reckon when we got it a few weeks ago it was almost at its best, thigh deep exploding moguls, and still knee deep at the lower exit.

Sloppy in the carpark this morning but a nice 5 cms up higher. Anton's , Sponars, Bushranger covered in soft snow. The humidity softened the icy base from the last week so it was smooth skiing but not real fast. Karels closed due to lack of vis. Really gluey low down, you coming flying off World Cup and it grabs you by the bases. Unexpectedly enjoyable morning

Snowed for most of the day yesterday above 1700. Apart from getting unavoidably damp getting up there, there were still some great lines on reasonably dry snow. And if you know where to look, like some do, there were untracked lines until the end of the day.

Big call out to the three snowboarders who cleaned up three of us on three separate occasions including my 10 year old daughter, on Saturday. She was hurt but not seriously luckily. Love your work boys. Thredbo needs to come down harder on these idiots. Can we not have a staffer at the bottom of Kosi and Cruiser all day, taking passes off dangerous riders and skiers. Wouldn't be that expensive would it? A gooddeterrent and would protect a lot of people from injury. This happens, it's real.

My wife was cleaned up while standing in the queue for cruiser by a snowboarder. She tore her ACL which put an end to her skiing days. The boarder didn't even stop :(

And as a snowboarder I've been taken out many times by out of control or clueless skiers. My wife and nephew have as well. Often said skiers are then rude and arrogant.

    So your point is?

I think, the point is this, from the OP (for both skiers and boarders)

I had to pull my 3yr old daughter out of way of a riderless snowboard hurling down Friday flat when we were there a few weeks ago. It would have done some serious damage to either of us had we copped it. Luckily it got another snowboarder who had fallen over so it hit the board underside not the boarder. Had it kept going it was headed right for the crowd of little kids where the choo choo train stops.

Saw plenty of runaway snowboards in NZ in July (why they were not attached to somebody I do not know). Plenty of boarders just running down he slopes. As far as I know, one kid got their shoulder or elbow dislocated when a board smashed into them at high speed.

Literally one of the stupidest things you can do.

Groomers today in the am were very very good. Was a big night of grooming with all main trails and an extra line off the top of Sponars.
Not alot of people around, so not getting chopped up as bad as it would be on the weekend. Got soft everywhere in the arvo with a bit of cloud cover and a bit of warmth.
We have not lost much snow up top over the last three weeks. Maybe 20cms at the most. Down low of course a lot more. Gotta love snow making.

Snow was soft, slushy and chopped up at Merrits and on Supertrail today. So warm out there. We still had fun however the conditions were extremely different to last Saturday when the snow was still beautiful.

Had a pretty good few days. Saturday was fun on the groomers, but I left K10 at lunch time, and headed out in search of corn, finding some excellent skiing in the next gorge over from Stanleys. Went for some selfie action.

Then Saturday night watched Milto do his first ever flare run, getting the newbie treatment after, with two other olympic oldsters, Anna Segal and Torah Bright.

Sunday the off piste corned nicely in the right aspects, today was a bit meh, it rained overnight.

Had a great two days at Thredbo on Friday and Saturday. Friday was a bit silly in old one pieces for a memorial day for fallen snow lovers. Skiing was hard first up but softened nicely. Met up with my parents, kind of funny skiing with them in their old suits. Saturday was a little warmer and softened early. Still great skiing. I love the trees when its soft, bushranger was a lot of fun. The crowds have mellowed too, vibe was much improved compared to last week.

Really getting to me that rossi racecourse is closed all the time. I really like the fall line on it and its away from the crowds. Some one piece poaching.

Sorry I missed you again Telecrag, maybe this weekend. Love the pole angle. I remember my first flare run was a little scared of the newby treatment!

Fk I love spring. Awesome spring skiing at the moment. Love Thredders in spring, ski the groomers until you are sick of them, then a short skin and boot track = corn harvest afternoon. Uh oh, selfie time

I went retro! It kinda sucked…..butt! But it was also kinda fun! The soft tele specific skis are really fun on slush bumps on the way back in at around 4.30, love it when everyone is suffering, but I am yip ya hoo. Maybe its the tail cutout, but the only thing I really like on the Scotty's are bumps. Might plate em. Duck bill boots suck butt in every way though.

Gotta say, I am a total convert. If you can't tele on NTN, you cant tele.

Perfect spring skiing. Skied the groomers until they were getting hacked, then after lunch took the camera out to take some touristy shots. Ended up having a great ski, the off piste was corned. Skied until stumps.

    Lazy spring afternoon?

Does anybody know of any coaches leaving Sydney late Friday night for the overnight run to the Snow this weekend?

I have checked around and most companies seem to have finished for the season.

    Thanks.

Surprisingly good today! Up high it was very cold so everything had set up after yesterday's clear precipitation. Down low was firm at first but softened up as the sun got higher. A lot of fun!

Today was great! It was firm without being icey and the crowds non existant! 2.5 really good fun hours. Sure there are some patches but super tail is complete and a lot of fun. The higher t bars are also good fun. Highly recommend a final few days.

Fantastic morning of spring skiing with telecrag today. Highnoon was great first up, Merritts groomers fun.The pick was lapping Exhibition off Sponars. ST was surprisingly good all the way to the bottom. The Tors into Rim Run and halfway down Cannonball was great too.
The weather is awesome, the are NO crowds.
Sure the lower mountain is in slo-mo shutdown BUT everyone has tanned smiles.
There is a GREAT cover, particularly the higher you get.
If you can, I'd recommend a last fling for the season

Had a cracking couple of springers. yesterday was this

    https://www.ski.com.au/xf/threads/new-sport-the-spring-triple-pics.68105/#post-2412898

Today I found perfect spring groomers. Big thanks to Phil for starting me on the journey, Ken for refining, and TP for even more refining. Today I had some runs that were the highlight of my skiing. The snow was perfect, everything went click, and I railed some tele turns on Sponars that are my best so far. I so appreciate the advice and help, paid and free, that I have had from you guys. Stoking the stoke, such a cool thing to do.

It was warm, people skiing in shorts and hopefully lots of sunscreen, the temp on the car clock said 20 degree just after lunch yesterday. Didn't stop it being an excellent days spring skiing, especially up high where the snow was soft and there’s still very good cover. Lower down the mountain, on the other hand, was really beginning to show some wear and tear. You could see the deterioration over the last 4 days. Still, Highnoon and the Super tail still had some surprisingly good skiing, especially early on.

Oh, I just found panorama mode on my camera …
