The Daffy! You never see that anymore.
Love a good daffy. Largely as it's the only thing resembling a trick I can do, a vestige of my youth that's gone the same way as two-tone fluoro one pieces
Skiing down it in anything but mint conditions is bad enough, not sure I'd be too keen to wander down it in my hiking boots!
Yeah, I'd rather walk up Funnelweb than down it. Especially after nearly dying when hiking from Hotham down the Bon Accord track a couple of New Years' ago. My ITBs explode just thinking about that bloody hike. It's the only thing that has really broken me... ever.
I walked up the flow trail yesterday and it looks in great nick. Eagle way seems to have had many rocks removed and from the bend down it has been smoothed with almost all rocks removed.
The top of the all mountain trail still seems a little white so it may no open but it should still be a fun opening mtb weekend.
I’ll report in tomoz arvo!!
Hopefully they open the lower AM, with the hell walk, its so quiet when they do that! they have been spruiking a new section on the cross back (that we never do).
You heading down this weekend?
yep, after work tomoz for Sunday. Will be a fair crew!
I’m heading out after work this arvo.
With +1? You there Sunday?
Curry at the Diggings.
+1 staying home
Yes, there Sunday as well
Sweet we can cut some laps!
That hell walk got me on my first visit last year, tried to ride up it in clipless pedals, halfway up I spun the back wheel and couldn't unclick quick enough, straight down on my hip. Half-backscratchers reckons it looked like I went into "Lock mode" and didn't stop laughing for weeks. Needless to say I had flat pedals next visit.
Haha, I made it up once on my old Mojo, once was enough, have never bothered again. From memory @climberman made it on his hardtail.
in a post-Cloudride life
It wouldn't happen now!
Day 1 - 365 Pass
Posted by Thredbo on FB yesterday
How do they get the snow so green?
Broccoli juice in the snow guns with a touch of kale.
Looking up Little Beauty
Find any bits of ankle down there?
@climberman & @telecrag
Day 2 of observation, suffering MTB SDS badly already. Relieving symptoms by purchasing a Blue Dirt season pass today (Last day at half price). Won't however ease desire to visit Thredbo, missing it badly and it's only been 7 weeks!!!
I'll be checking strava tonight. We'll see who was fast.
Geez what gear is @climberman in ... going Up
Nice use of helmets. That’s using your noggin
Greta to see you and tc mate. Enjoy tomorrow
Haha, it's a mixed blessing, hell climb to ride the AM trail from GB, upside, you have it to yourself!
Better leave em there boyz
Well, there is snow forecast for Thursday & Friday!
Latest ENSO at BOM out.
Going to be a late one if an El Nino does finally develop.
Though NOAA is now suggesting that models point to a possible 2 year event.
Bit of goss from someone in the know, they are planning on using Gunbarrell much more this season for mtb. Weekends during the busy season. Also the new trail being built goes from GB across to Flow ( a beginner flow, @Untele-whippet put a map in the mtb thread) and my understanding is the longer term plan is for more trails (a really hard DH) to come from there. Yahoo! Onwards and upwards for Thredbo!
Oh look, the Basin live cam got some footage of me in action this morning!
Hard to see how he can get the rotation, with balls that size!
The window winder action helps.
Telecrag I believe that they are also going to put a green run from Gunbarrel with the new intermediate run pre-Christmas and the easier one early next year (at least that is what they said at the pre-summer info session).
Not a lot of trail building going on today!
They just announced stage 1 of the new trail opens today, with stage two in the new year, and Gunbarrel to run every day until 27 jan. Onwards and upwards! Then downwards of course!
