Went for a bit of an explore today, hiked up the metal road till the end of the ramsheads then escaped the masses by hiking up onto the last point on the ridge. We then walked back along the ramsheads and found a lifetime of adventures to be had.

    Awesome walk

They have too many people, so Pete can't help her, and that shoulder is maybe not up to it. Doing something with ropes so she may also teach you something, if you are up for it.

I may have dobbed you in!

Haha I’ll drop by and tell her to call me. I’m always happy to help as they always leave ropes up for Chicka

The back of signature hill, signature hill is kind of the mid or turning point on the rams heads, so we hiked along the ridge back from Cootapatampa.

Arrived at Thredbo, to be greeted by a deer walking along Friday Drive, just after Friday Flat bus stop.

The sad thing these days: the most common animals (at least mammals) are all feral. We should be so proud of our 'exploits'. Not!

At Least our bird life is mainly native. A small ray of hope.

...I wonder when the check shirt party will slap a heritage order on deer?? Could follow with Indian Mynas and European wasps??? (/:-/(

Someone was walking a fluffy tan dog on a lead in DaBo last weekend.
Everyone seemed to be turning a blind eye.
    Maybe an iconic heritage pooch?

I guess in a NP that's a no go. Here in Vic resorts quite a few residents seem to have dogs and in the main they seem well behaved - although not sure how rapt I'd be if I found one chasing a pigmy possum at Hotham.

NPWS are very interested in reports of dogs. I have reported them, with rego, and they have maintained a watch at the Park exit (at least that's what they said they would do).

Friday flat is a masterpiece..thredbo was daunting to new skiers. It is a bit too steep for new skiers especialy jumping on a chairlift for the first time all the way up a mountain when you have never seen one.you progress Quickly at thredbo you get challenged as you get to merrits and move across the mountain.great place to learn how to ski.

New skiers / boarders can start on the magic carpet in the Beginners Bowl behind Friday Flat. Not steep, flat.

dogs in Vic resorts (at least at falls anyway) are supposed to be on lead except in small defined area. a permit is needed and only granted to residents and property owners.

Yeah thanks to @telecrag and his friends for letting me tag along this morning! Good fun.

Turned out the weather was fine today after all, the forecast was pretty gloomy with 95% chance of 10-15mm of rain. But barely a drop. There's finally a few showers coming in now, at 4pm.

Dunno, I recommend to a couple of friends "Don't bother taking the chairlift, it's a bit of a rip-off, opens a bit late in summer, and big queues for tickets in peak periods. It takes 1.5-2 hours to walk up the Merritt's nature track instead and it's very nice"

It took them 4 hours and sounded like a bit of a death march haha.

Did the DHG track on the weekend walking from Thredbo to the gap then uphill to Karels. It was quite nice.

We walked down via the Merritt's track and that was bad enough, a death march sounds about right for attempting it uphill.

Another great trip to Thredbo. Half-Backscratchers had a ball, although he lost a bit of skin on Cannonball today and sadly finished the day breaking one of his two day old $$$ pedals coming down the All-mountain.

However following this rainbow all the way to Jindabyne soon made us forget about our woes and what a special place this region is.
