Good fun area. That vid is only about half the area. After the jumps area they come across, there is another tighter twisty rollercoaster type section, and off that another more natural open trail near the aquatic centre.

for me driving up there though, I preferred to go to some of the less developed areas and away from crowds. Might have something to do with how long it took them to reopen it as well.

Its fun, worth taking the bike if your are going near it, but not a destination, too small.

I'm not a mountain biker as such, but i grew up up that way (hornsby) and i used to hit all the firetrails around there. The one down the back of the rifle range is nice and steep and falls all the way down to berowra creek. Can ride across to Galston on it. Lots of potential for the keen to cut single trails.

Does make you wonder why people travel 500km to ride fredbo when there is plenty of 200m vertical drops in northern Sydney to be developed. May have to put a lift in at at hornby.

I think that as there is less open, say lunch etc, they still need to keep numbers down, hence the cut off. The majority of people who buy a season pass will be there on w/e's and holidays too. I like the idea of a weekends/holiday pass, and a weekday pass.

I got the text message today from a mate, saying it needed to be done by 1600 today. I was out bush playing toy soldiers and didn't get back home until after 7.

I may have but left early Friday for field so didn't pay attention to it.

I was still in two minds about it as it was. If I was getting one it was just me and not the family.

Everything they do has to be ticked off. It takes a lot longer, and there are more restrictions on what, can be built, even after approval. From memory when they were doing the upper AM, they would build a small section, then it would be assessed, more rock needed here, or whatever. Took ages.

The work down the bottom not so much I guess, it is the bottom of the ST, so they build a jumps section, different every year.
