Problem with dreamy and runs like WC and true blue is their aspect and drainage.
Good for setting up gates mind you.
    Whap whap.
It's similar to Zalis at BC.
When the guns run it sets up on sodden base.
Especially if the guns are lances(on dream run)

It'll have it's good days and it's bad days. All I know it'll have way more better days than before. I can remember a handful of days screaming down Ballroom and straight into Dream run full speed under perfect winter snow. Now it will be a new thing! But more regular.

I think I’ve had one of the best runs ever in Thredbo on True Blue, problem was I convinced the family to go down there last year and it was literally a sheet of ice. I wasn’t popular

Likewise me on dream run. Schuss.
However it was snowing enough that there was no bottom.

Ive had a fair few dream runs down Dreamrun, but yeah, I expect it to be firm and fast first up a lot, kind of OK the first time, then the cord is scraped to smooth (dust), and ...

The thing I liked about dream was the entrance with the hill, kinda like rollers, you could carve right and into dream run, then a left, before carving right again and down the main run.

mum not sure how that would work groomed

I’ve had the same on True Blue and Dream Run - the best of the best and the worst of the worst.

one thing is for sure Dream Run will be a nice first up wake up run - it’ll either switch your brain on or switch you legs on.

Dream run was definitely lapable but required big laps off Gunbarrel. I never lapped dream run but the schuss/ general area was a good go to when Kozi chairs on windhold, I suspect the gondola is going to bugger this go to up, that or improve it.

To save me some embarrassment tomorrow - does anyone know if snowboards go on the outside of the gondola or on the inside?

And does anyone know if the Thredbo office in Jindy is definitely open?

    Ta!

PS put my bindings back on the board today, getting excited!!!

Surely the Gondie lifties will advise.
Some places outside, some places inside - usually at the discretion of wind gusts, and length/width of boards.

There is ski and board racks on the outside, but don't think they would stop you taking it in.

Even more so with social distancing limiting the number of people that are permitted inside each gondola cabin.

The cabins are huge! Could easily fit 4 people plus gear in there.

The board fit on the outside, and twin-tip skis have to be separate to fit in the ski slots

Today I learned what death cookies are!!!

    Much excite.

But in all seriousness it was an awesome day, zero wind, no clouds, no queues, lovely and cool, just perfect! Snow less so but that’s ok, we were four happy snow bunnies and no one injured themselves - can’t ask for more than that

It's probably not so drastic here with shorter gondy rides and newer cabins, but I have seen recommendations elsewhere to make every effort to take the gear inside with you if you can.

Oh really? I don’t think they are keen on that. Husband brought his skis in for the ride up since they are twin tips and didn’t fit paired together, and the liftie said to him next time to split them and leave them on the outside.

More concerning for me I noticed (when my board was on the gondola rack) that the pattern on the base of my board seems to go in the opposite direction to what I ride it in - how much of a problem is this do you reckon? o_O

Yeah the plexiglass gets trashed with boards/skis inside.
Hence why in Japan you get a condom for your board

Nah it’s a twin non-directional, that’s why I ride it the wrong way around as I think the graphic looks better that way, since I’m a goofy LOL

I should clarify I mean the pattern from the base grind, if that wasn’t clear. Not the graphic on the base

We have ridden almost identical gondola cabins in Telluride and there all skis and boards rode outside.

There are four slots for boards and more for skis so no need to take them inside.

With the Gunbarrel still closed, they need a move on to link Friday flat to Gondola mid - station.
