Please let me be able to get there. As a Queenslander nothing is a given. Surely the Covid situation will be better by August?
I asked guest services about winter passes last Tuesday. The girl mentioned there will (should) be an announcement on them this week.
Did the Meadows Nature Track, Golf Course Loop, and part of the DHG walk today. I was surprised by how busy the Kosciuszo Express is. Almost every chair (up and down) was full
So last week's trip was thwarted by severe back spasms for 4 days. I was due to come home Thursday morning so wouldn't have been caught up in the mass exodus down the Hume. But now the Great Wall of Murray has slammed shut again so it looks like the postponement to Feb might not go ahead either. Pretty devastated. The main purpose of my trip is to see Frank, and time and COVID are not on my side
Rode the Bobsled a couple times this morning. The line was so long they put up signs telling people to come back later because of capacity constraints. Gunbarrel and Kosi went on lightning hold half an hour ago, and just started spinning again.
Thanks so much. I did speak with him last week but it's not the same. I can hear the frailty and weariness in his voice
Pretty disappointed at the lack of SD in the bobsled queue. Despite signs saying to do so. The one gap is the only gap which has closed as we move forward in the queue, its just cause they havent realised
There is hand sanitizer , and the staff are santizing the bobsleds though. Haven't seen a single mask. We only came to swim originally so didnt bring them :-(
Is that today ? there was no distancing in the lines last week either. Crowds make me anxious normally.
I must admit I was really annoyed today. No matter how much I moved to the left or a path, or how wide I held my arms, people just pushed into me. It is if they are out of the city and think they do not have to take precautions here. I believe the police did some number plate scanning here last week and picked up a number of people from the northern beaches. Rumour has it that, when they were fined, they said that they had built the fine into the cost of their holiday! You can imagine how well that went down!
Played some disc golf today. Did pretty terribly. I'll add it to the long list of sports I'm not good at. Im pretty happy with Thredbo's Covid policies but I wish they'd enforce SD more. Clearly many people aren't responsible enough to SD themselves. The only staff I've seen enforcing SD are those at the Denman.
during winter they were all pretty strict through the village. I think they might be getting a bit covid complacent with how long it has been dragging on.
The Snowgums is running at the moment and people are riding up it, but its closed on the thredbo app and website. I'm not sure if its some sort of maintenance procedure or if its actually open to the public. Update: Snowgums has since stopped
Will shredbo ever expand to an 18 hole golf course? I could be convinced to move there, even though its NSW
Kosci Express was late opening this morning. Maybe Snowgums running, and the size of the queues, are because of that. However there are lots of people here. Even at 11.30 pm the queue was down to the bridge.
According to a shuttle bus driver here, the Gunbarrel queue was ridiculous as well, wrapping down to the donut kiosk
Likely not. The value-for-money simply isn't there. If anything, they may even get rid of the golf course and turn it into another Friday Flat.
Is it too soon to be getting excited for the 2021 winter season?! Just bought my NPWS annual pass yesterday woop woop I wonder what the winter pass offering will be like
I’m hoping there are season passes. They did for mtb. And I’m really hoping seasonal programs are back on. nearly the end of the week and my guest services Intel hasn’t come true. I think I may have been lied too.
I hope there are season passes too, and no requirement for booking in days, but I also hope that they have a singles line again this year though that probably wouldn't work if there's SD on lifts again. Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds
Might well be. This year has been great for them, and the coming season is looking less chance of NZ travel.
it just feels like the vibe to me if demand drives the price then I imagine they could charge nearly anything and people would still buy it
IF, and it's a big IF, there's less requirements to limit numbers each day, and people have more freedom to move between resorts people will be a little slower to throw excess money at the problem. There will always be a certain number of people who are price sensitive, but for longevity they still need to keep it relatively accessible. I would be completely shocked if they tried anything near a 50% price increase
