Heads up that walking on the belt will be being discouraged in ski boots as it damages the rollers. Sides are preferred if walking

I ventured up onto hn this morning. Hard and fast was good but the mobile chicanes were a bit much. Was advanced only again but apparrently everyone is advanced now. I'm not convinced. Even beginner ski school groups were advanced this morning. Why do instructors do that to learners?

HN straight liners need to learn that no matter how good they think they are it's a shared run.

Early up, hook in, after 10 it's time to practice short turns and chill.

Upper section fast n long, lower section short n tight.

It's far too early season to be "letting them run".

Bloke. Everyone was doing 5k's an hr on an advanced only blue run.

I understand your point though but keep the ski school off of advanced only runs. Thredbo isn't exclusively for ski school.

If patrol say keep your classes off it, then stay the f off it.

For the record, I haven't been whistled at or told off by patrol since 06.

It is what it is, an early season, limited runs, limited snow, maximum skiers equation.

You should try Merrits at 2:00pm .... pin ball alley.

Speed in crowds is crazy.

I do agree that run choice mistakes are made by all groups on the hill. Currently safety has a strong focus. Treat the current offerings as a medium slow turning environment. There will be a time to run.

Or hike.

I actually only did two runs. Wasn't all that safe even holding back. Much unpredictability.

I refuse to ski highnoon at 10km/h.

Not happening. Ever.

To be fair, only half of hn was open, so that amplified how thick the traffic was.

And the fashion. F me. Was it op shop day today?

I thought private school families had money.

I heard that JLW there were over 170 rescues.

wouldn’t surprise me, opening day was deep heavy snow, super unpredictable and most people had minimum 9 months off. I’m pretty sure I saw four knees go,

last weekend was hard pack into piles of sugar another good way to do a knee

I can forgive any colour choices. I like all the variations and people all looking different.

It was more that everyone was in old tattered, wrinkled and dirty gear with no waterproofing. Frostbite looked like a salvos.

We have standards to maintain. I might start giving fines to people that fail. Fake fines.

I usually like frostbite. Only place I can eat and stay in stay in central spur.

Something similar in basin/karels could work well.
