A much nicer day than yesterday for photos, although a lot more turbulent in the strong winds [IMG] Today's pics here.

This photo has the lodge that caught fire a few days ago in the centre of the frame (the middle one of the three): no visible damage, but apparently the roof is not too good [IMG]

Nice lenticular action there, coming off the NSW main range... those little oyster clouds up top.. no wonder you hit rough and tumble stuff on the lee of the range (Thredbo valley).

We gliding folk out of Cooma used to hunt the wave in Winter. Altitude record over the snowys for a glider is in the vicinity of 9000m. I did 6500 once. Ferkin cold. [IMG]

Stick that in your rotary winged jam tin. [IMG]

You still into the gliding VSG. Came face to face with a pair up on Curruthers in Sprng 2004 and have wanted to have a go in one ever since. Do you know if anyone runs tours?

Great pics again by the way heli. Only thing left for you to do is to take some pics of the western faces! [IMG] [IMG]

    Top pics Heli,

You have shown us every crook and cranny of anything between Hotham and Falls with Mt Buller on the side.

So its great to see some lovin' finally given to NSW resorts, its great that you have gone freelance and not just restricted to the Hoth - Falls run [IMG]

SB. Another feature of my old and crusty status. And family respons's. Not since late 80s. I take the odd joyflight when on hols in new places. Eg grampians.

Much avail on gliding near snowies. Try Khanchoban, Tumut, Corryong. Google. [IMG] And of course, Cooma. But I don't think they take tourists over Snowy ranges. [IMG]

The bigger place on the left/top is Tussock. Originally built as the private home of the architect, Andrew Norbury, who did the NGV rework a few years back, as well as creating some other amazing places in Crackenback Ridge. This property still holds the record for real estate price in the area, somewhere over $4M for the leasehold [IMG] Really amazing place, they even heated the entrance road.

After he sold it a couple of years back, there was a huge robbery and ALL the furniture and BOSE systems and everything was looted out of the place by a truck that just backed up to it and filled up!!

Incredible building, incredibly architecture in an incredible location (living areas are small) but a real fishbowl, not very private. We used to ski past the master bedroom... he'd come running out yelling at us in his long johns [IMG]
