We are skiing Perisher 5 days from next Friday?
Want to do a day at Thredbo.
Would it be worthwhile without any more snow in next 7 days?
As not many lifts and trails open as yet?

509 vertical metres was accessible last Sunday, 2-3 times the vertical available at any other OZ resort on that day and serviced by high speed quad chairs.

Plenty more to open by the weekend - GO!

    Cheers,
No, have not skied Thredbo before.
Plan is for me and my 15 year old son do Thredbo for a day, then Perisher for a couple before wifey and the neighbors come down who have not skied before.

Go to Thredbo and ski the Supertrail which opens this weekend. It would be a nice change from all the shorter runs at Perisher! Antons and Basin t-bars are also opening up this weekend which is more than enough terrain for a day - you won't get bored.

That is enough to say yes then. It is not going to be spectacular, but neither is Perisher yet, its still early season (In saying that it is a brilliant start this year). But it will be worth it equally. What level skiers?

    We are both intermediate.
2 years ago we did Perisher with only front valley open so are quite pumped for this trip.
    Cheers

Thredbo is also a whole ski village experience whereas perisher is only a terminal

Depends where you're staying. If in Jindy, I'd say yes. If you're staying up at Perisher, I wouldn't bother.

Hardly, Hotham was open top to bottom. Not that that's much.

I wouldn't bother with Thredbo for one day ... it need days to get the gist and find the good spots

Fair point, was thinking only of the 270m off the Village chair, forgot about the 100m above the road.

Personally I would so go for it. If enough is open, and apparently it will be then it's a great opportunity to explore a new hill. Jealous.
