I'm heading to Thredbo early next week and I started to look at the green trails in the resort...

Just wonder how to get down from Cruiser to Friday Flat without riding High Noon.

Is it possible to take the Merritts chairlift for download and get off at creek station to ski back to Friday Flat? or need to ski to Gunbarrel express to download from there? but not sure if the traverse is opened or not?

    Anyone knows?
    Tks

You can make your way down by following the cat track, past the Gunbarrell, across and over past Antons/Sponars, and it will bring you in just above the Snowgums chair, then stay hard left and make your way down the side of the race course and cut hard left above the machinery shed, down Lovers Leap (I think that's what its called) which then takes you to the trail leading to FF

Or you could just ask if you can download on Gunbarrell.

    Hope that helps.

You can download Merritts, but not quite sure about getting off at Creek Station.
The best way is to ski back to the Gunbarrel (easy)and download directly to FF, thats what the Ski School does with green run students.
I would hope the traverse would be open next week after the amount of snow that has/is falling.
Have a great week----we'll be there the week after

Can't get off at Merritts at Creek station.

Like Whiteman said, follow the traverse across from Cruiser to Supertrail, stick to the left (Village Trail) then down Sundowner. It's all green as far as I know but the Supertrail section can be a little daunting for beginners.

Or you can actually download on Gunbarrel, like tele-whippet said

Yes, even when there's no snow at the Creek station itself you can get off if High Noon and the run down to Friday Flat is open.

If you're a beginner DON"T repeat DON"T ski cat trails.
They scare me more than any triple black.

I'd agree with that. Not a lot of room, people whizzing past at all sorts of speeds, no room to make a mistake without hitting fence/rock/tree. If you're a true green run skier then I'd even avoid the easy parts of supertrail until you get confident.

Download on Merritts or Gunbarrel chair.

Agreed. And there's that steep little section funneling down to the cat track just after you cross Sponars T where a lot of advanced skiers are finishing a run off the top. That's a major accident zone.

When I was just beginning, that was (and still is) my favourite path to take.
That cat track is pretty hairy but it's part of the learning process. I have seen people who have timed their run badly across the Sponars T-Bar and been cleaned up.
