Clearly responded to Perisher's offer. The 365 pass is $6 cheaper than epic australia plus tube.

Costs nearly as much as a medical center consult for your busted ankle. Don't do it.

    Thredbo - I don't like it.

I don’t get this statement, every year they offer the same or similar passes at pretty much the same time, so how is this responding to anyone?

Yeah maybe they might wait a day or so after and tinker if needed but in reality I’d say they would most likely adjust from last years offer.

I like the changes to the 365 pass, slightly more expensive than last year but they have offered the mtn bike discounts as well. Premium winter pass looked interesting but we get the summer value.

Can’t see how long the sale price is valid, anyone know?

(I need another few weeks before I know if we will be doing a long stint in Thredbo next year or not).

We have used our 365 pass in Hakuba for the last 2 years for the 50% discount which has been great, sadly seems Perisher only have unaffiliated...with Hakuba, Thredbo with Niseko.

Does anyone have any info on how the bring a friend vouchers are going to work going forward? It appears they may have changed to the Perisher model of vouchers and the discount will change based on how many discount tickets sold. Last years 20% and 50% discount worked well apart from having to be with the people.

I’ve used the Perisher vouchers and they are ok because you don’t have to be there to get the discount and can send vouchers to friends to use online but the discounts are much worse.

The fact nobody can see a date is a concern.

Last year I stuffed up the kids tickets and managed to buy them winter passes only, when I realised in November I asked to upgrade them to the full pass and they quoted me a different price which was higher than the original price. It turns out the prices creep up, but I would assume Thredbo will send out a message saying that the sale ends on day X.

The is an assumption but i'm guessing they have a set number they are prepared to sell at price X, then they will increase the price after hitting that target by the $150 they did last year and then increase that again.

They'll send an email when the initial offer us about to expire. I bought this season's at the end of August last year. Gone up $10.

Zac your assumption is correct. We popped into the ticket office today to ask when this offer ended. We were told that the offer was open until they sold a certain number and then the price would rise.

We came home and paid our deposits just in case!

Marketing gone mad, at Perisher, when and where you book a lesson dictates the price, seriously, like, oh, that price expired 10 mins ago. Its like fkn Trivago, same room, 15 different prices! I think its time to take up arms.

Put my deposit down for the 2019 winter premium pass last night! Getting keen to do laps of the Monaro again next year :p we are going to do a week in NZ next year too, will be good to use the Mountains collective discounts

    Awesome.

We’ve got the deposits down too. Luckily my daughter will still be under 5 so she is cheap compared to her brother.

Although not keen for laps of Monaro, I am however organising my leave for next year though. Going to get more time down there than this year. Will still be tent life though.

Yeah I think next year I might try to stay in the YHA for when I go by myself, there often seems to be female beds available and day trips by myself get so tiring.

We are seriously thinking about ditching the epic pass next year and going to thredbo. I havent been in over 20 years. We live about an hour and 20min from jindy so we do a lot of day trips. My only concern is the parking situation. Mid week isn't a problem. What is the parking situation like on weekends and does it ever fill up to the point of being turned back. I know there are certain weekends where its busy but i tend to avoid those anyway. We always use the tube so parking has never been a problem even if we turn up late. The kids would be devo if we had to turn around and come back. Not trolling running out of time and need to make a decision. The parking issue is the only deciding factor.
    Cheers

It was the same last year they obviously have set targets for what they will sell at certain prices, and as @PMG says, they will send an email saying the deal ends Friday.

What is crazy is the friend invites, this year was clear 20% for weekends and Fri + Mon, 50% for Tues, Wed and Thur; next year will be a lottery as you can't buy online and you won't know the discount until you turn up.

We've not had a parking issue yet this season, although the latest we have arrived was 8:10. Day trips we end up arriving around a bit after 7 and when camping we aim to be in the car park by 8.

I turned up last year on a good snow day, a Tuesday, at 9.30, and only just got into the over, over flow. If you can get there in time for first chairs, you will be right any day IMO. If you want to start at punter oclock, weekends might be a problem.

Ive arrived at about 9:30-10:00 a few times, and on the busy weekends I was either in the second overflow Carpark or parked on the side of the road into the village, right near the turn off. As long as your car/driving is up to the slush on the side of the road and you are prepared to walk a bit then I doubt you will need to turn around.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten there before 8:45, and I haven’t had to turn around once in the dozen or so times I’ve been this season, mostly on weekends.

It does happen but is rare. Last Sunday Thredbo turned cars around from around 9:45 to 13:45 as everything was full but that was arguably one of the busiest days of the season combined with lots of snow that can limit available parking. Getting there early is key in having no issues.

Thanks guys. So basically if we turn up by 7.30-8 should be ok. If it means a bit more walking then the kids can just suck it up. Or i could drop them off closer to the lifts. The walk back will give me some peace before i hit the slopes. Our morning boot fitting ceremony in the carpark is usually a stressful affair. Why is it that getting them geared up brings out the demon child in them. Then 5min later its all happy happy joy joy.

Still need to crunch the number on all of the different passes on offer as we'll probably do either a Japan and or NZ trip next year. Used the 365 discount in Hakuba this year as well as in NZ this week.

The $49 deposit remains the same no matter when you buy. Just the balance payable later increases (unless you plan to buy it outright of course).

I think buzzy is right as I was initially charged too much for this season's pass. When I complained they checked when I paid my deposit then refunded me the difference.

Buzzy is right, and it has been co firmed by @Townsend.

Once they are close to the allocation an email will go out then the prices will go up.

When i saw you posting on this thread, following the Thredbo threads, I naturally assumed you had seen the light. I’m surprised an intelligent lady that you are has taken so long to switch ;).

You know you and the kids will prefer the vert and Mr P can always get the lift down.

7 days and you’re better off buying the season pass at this price.

I think even if we aren’t able to do the season we could manage a few weeks next season so I’ll be giving PB the chat this weekend
