Great stuff @ausbob . I thought some of the photos were or the Mt Perisher double.... but I may well be wrong (which is not unusual).

We really appreciate you going to the effort to post these. They are great pieces of history.

Again I think 1,2,4 and 7 are identifiable as the Mt Perisher double. 1 and 2 are reversed. The last one has really got me stumped. Did your father work on constructing transmission towers? Those roundy things (highly technical term) in the grass look a bit the things on this old tower. Thanks again for sharing.

I really have no idea where the photos are so any information is helpful. I'll go back and number the photos to make it easier.

I think you will find these 2 pictures are reversed.
Looking downhill from Mt. Perisher the road should be on your right

They also show there have been a few changes to the Mt Perisher double since it was first built.
The bottom bull-wheel has been moved outside the building and the arch type cable supports have been replaced with central t-shaped towers

    More great photos Ausbob.
While I am not 100% sure on them all, my thoughts on locations for some of them:
    1. Top of the old Crackenback double chair at Thredbo with the beginnings of a young Thredbo village in the valley below.
    2. Old Crackenback double chair, Thredbo.
    3. Charlotte Pass village with the Charlotte Pass - Alpine Way chair heading up towards The Foxhole and Litlle Stillwell
    4. Charlotte Pass village with the Cell block building with the stone buttress on the left. This was the base terminal building for the Charlottes - Alpine Way chair.
    5. Top of Crackenback Chair at Thredbo. Brindle Bull and Paddy Rushs bogong peaks in background on skyline.
    6. ???
    7. Top of Mt Perisher Double Chair (back to front)
    8. Bottom of Mt Perisher Double (back to front) Now called the 'Powder Inn' restaurant/ cafe.
    9. Mt Perisher Double chair tower I think with what looks like Mt Wheatley in the background.
    10. Looking up the Mt Perisher double chair from the bottom.
    11. Charlotte Pass. The Kosciusko Chalet Hotel under re construction.
    12. The base of the Charlotte Pass - Alpine way chair, Charlotte Pass end ( I think???)
    13. Charlotte Pass. Kosci Chalet hotel. With charlotte pass Alpine way chair bullwheel in front. (Photo back to front)
    14. ????
    15. Base of Mt Perisher Double chair (photo back to front)
    16. Looking down the old Crackenback double Chair to Thredbo village. Alpine Way traversing above.
    17. Base of Mt Perisher double chair.
    18. Mt Perisher double chair. Mid station???
    19. Mt Perisher double chair.
    20. The Sundeck Hotel, Perisher Valley.
    21. The Crackenback double chair, Thredbo (going off the chair design)
    22. Top of Mt Perisher double chair with Prussian and Thompson Plains in the mid distance.
    23. Top station old Crackenback double Chair, Thredbo. With Mt Leo, Paddy Rushs Bogong on horizon
    24. Bottom of Mt Perisher double chair. Looking up Mt Perisher.

Thanks Ausbob for posting. There's some great history there. Hope the above helps.
    Regards
    TT

My photographic research into the history of the Kosciusko Chalet Chairlift will feature in a 7 channel audio visual installation created by Madelynne Cornish. The work will be premiering in Super Field, a sonic and visual exhibition that showcases the work of 19 artists working in remote locations around the world.

Curated in partnership by the Bogong Centre for Sound Culture and RMIT Design Hub, the exhibition will run as a series of four programs from 08 December 2017 - 17 February 2018. Opening 17:00-20:00, Thursday 07 December 2017.

The work involving my photographic research will appear in the first program of Super Field, High Country: The Australian Alps, which runs from 08 December 2017 - 22 December 2017.
