Heya tele i think I saw you skiing basin when I was on the tbar. I also saw a telehead skiing the schuss below merritts! Man that looked tight.

Thredbo is real fun up high ATM but down low its challenging. Due to the way the mountain is set up and the current state of the weather on the base I like karels / basin / supertrail / little beauty / true blue to warm up the legs in the mornings, then head down sundowner to cannonball for merritts during lunchtime and antons and sponars in the arvo. This way you get the best of the groomed tracks for morning, but still manage to find good stuff up high in the arvo. I love ending on sponars and taking conrod straight to black sallees. That trail is so wide and long and has such great snow all day and you can build up a decent speed, it almost reminds me of theodoglacier at Zermatt.

Today was my last days skiing for the year and although I had fun I was a little sad. There are still great lines to be had and I just have that urge to dump family and friends and job and life and just ski forever. Thanks for being nice to blind skiers and their pesistently ambling guides.

Hey Pigface, er , Cin. I think I may have seen you a couple of times in the last couple of weeks. How long were you up for?

Ive got a silly question, or maybe a suggestion.... when lifts go on visibility hold, its only Cin that prevents you from riding them [IMG] .

I love it when I see or hear you guys coming. Most of skiing is about the way it feels, keep on feeling it man. You are definitely not the only one here that wishes they could ski forever [IMG]

cin I am going to Thredders for the first time next week (normally do PB) and I was looking for just such a daily run sheet. Thanks. BTW I love your avatar, I could sit and watch it for hours and without substance abuse either.

hahaha, yeh I love whiteouts, its like an inverse parting of the the seas, and everyone flees the mountain leaving me and cin to ski. And yes I feel very much in my element when there is a whiteout, which occurred a few times this week. I know I am feeling a lot more confident than alot of able bodied skiers around me. I like to spray Thredbo's special lemon flavoured slurpees over them as I ski past asking if they are ok.

We just skied this last week and were wearing lime green bibs with black writing on the back..But it may have been a couple of people you saw telecrag as there are a few blind ss at Thredbo over the last few weeks including a paralympic skier who is good odds for gold at vancouver. Actually, there was the cutest little girl, probably no more than six or seven, gunning it down supertrail stockless with her guide. I wanted to get her autograph! Actually its racing heaven this week with FIS trials for both able and paralympics, skiercross comps, masters racing training. The highlight was seeing the slalom gates being battered out of their holes by the Australian team. We have some real talent going to Vancouver for the winter games.

Keep the dream alive for me and cin telecrag

Posted this in weather but may as well post here as well....

Just drove up to Thredbo for a look. Nice Sunday drive - NOT

Absolutely HOWLING winds and sheets of rain along the Alpine Way. At some points between Bullocks and Thredbo it was like a giant bucket of water was just dropped on the car - that's how hard it was raining.

Couldn't see too much at Thredbo except for the brown patches starting to form on... the whole mountain, really.

We're going to need a lot of follow up snow to repair the damage caused by this one

Ha ha, I read the written report, in Thredbo before I left yesterday. It said it was a beautiful sunny Saturday blah, blah. Do they look out the window? It was blowing a gale with these nasty clouds about to come over.

Saw a report on ABC last night, must have been shot and written a month ago. Did you know we are having our best snow season on record? Snow depth higher than last year, and set to keep going? This was Thredbo and Perisher CEOs.

The OZ season is so short and fickle, if you are going to do a story on it, and dont want to look like a [auto-censor], get it on air the same day, it might be a totally different story tomorrow.

Wonder what the water looks like running down the skicross?

yeah saw that. I think they were saying 'record year', but not quite sure what the record was. I think they may have been talking visitor numbers or revenue or something like that. The story was certainly misleading, and very advertorial, especially for the ABC.

    Just arrived back in Sydney!

Yup, and that's what I spent 5 hours in today, ocassionally getting pelted in the face with hail. [IMG] But it was my last day of the season, so I just had to. [IMG]

You're a tougher skier than me! There was no way I was getting out there yesterday.

This morning on the other hand.... I'm definitely curious

lol! careful what you say around here... !

Hobber has a rule. I don't ski in the rain.

I had to bend that a couple of weeks ago as I had my HIP course and it was drizzling at the bottom, but past mid station it was wet snow so that was okay.

    For reference purposes, the rules are (in no particular order);

    1. No friends on powder days
    2. I don't ski in the rain
    3. When in doubt, go with the Austrian (new rule this year)

I did have a rule "It's never worth walking for a run" - but that was naive, didn't last and was removed. [IMG]

I was happily surprised how good it was off Antons & Sponars. I'd imagine Basin and Karels were also dishing up the good stuff. Maybe Richard will tweet about it later today.

I think I might have to head up again tomorrow morning with the express purpose of skiing off Karels. Got to make the most of it just in case Frog's prediction is accurate!

    Snow, snow and more snow

Frog is saying up to 25cm tomorrow, yesterday's Weatherzone forecast said up to 40cm on Tuesday

I think 50cm from this afternoon through Wednesday with snow down to 1000m tomorrow. Just got that feeling about this one

I took the roof racks off the car on the weekend - therefore 50cm is confirmed.

Never really tried, but I guess it would slow you down a fair bit depending on the snow?? The excess would be skied off eventually.

Hi kids, finally remembered my password so I could buy internerd time from hotshots. Had three amazing runs this morning, but it was nearly an hour a run as only slowgums and gunbarrel running. Real nice dry, wind blown snow. Tomorrow is shaping up as a biggy, Karels here I come. Still snowing now.

What a change. Sunday was good spring skiing, Monday was shocking, rain affected slush. Yesterday was fresh windblown yahoo, today snowey blowey whoopee. Could tomorrow be the ultimate?

Only got vid out the chalet window, its a bit knarly for the cam out there. Did get some while catching some freshies yesterday :). If it clears up tomorrow I will get some more. There are a few shite hot teles here, I am going to try and get some footage of them. I skied with one of them (amongst others) on Sunday, possibly the best I have seen, massive airs, really cool.

Although the skiing is excellent today, I think you would have only got one run before you had to go Wang. It took half an hour to get on slowgums, and it aint running fast. Tomorrow on the other hand.....

He he he, its still puking down in the village. Kosi is going, started about an hour ago. Should be plenty of fresh tomorrow if this keeps up for the night. So much for the BOMs snow level rising to 1600m this arvie.

Fingers crossed they are wrong with the forecast for the W/E. Naked snow dancing continues.

I reckon Thredbo media where spot on today with the amount of snow. Though I didn't spend much time up high today, I'm led to believe Kosi was closed unti 2:30 because of avi risk!?! I'll know tomorrow as a ski patrol friend had one of my cams on, was working that side of the mountain and I'll get the footage in the morning.

The snow was hard pac as most of the snow was micro flakes wind blown, even Banjo drive resembled the top of Antons before the plow.

Telecrag, how long you in town for? Sunday arvo I work in Hot Shots, every other I'm in my little hole in VT. I bet the freeheeler you were with was Ben (young guy with head phones) loves getting air, did you spot the little french girl in the matching jacket and pants? her first year on tele's, she handles them well. She also works at Hot Shots but was on the hill today. I would have just missed you in the shop I was in Altitude having lunch but raced into there to change my playlist to include my daily run video.

Hey Wang, don't take this the wrong way but have you actually made your money back on your thredbo season pass this year? doesn't sound like you've been able to put in many days?
