9th August 2014 will see the iconic Top 2 Bottom race return to Thredbo, this year with a new category and a huge prize purse.

I'm looking forward to it but more nervous than in previous years. Last year didn't compete due to injury, the year before 8th in my class, the year before wash out, the year before 2nd to Brett from ski patrol. I'm 46 now and am feeling it.

Hi Gareth, I saw another post that you might be looking for others to share accommodation with over the snow season. Is this still the case?

Just bought my first board and I am keen to get out a bit this winter.

Bikes hey? I wasn't across that.

All the best @Arne. Brettski may have moved up a decade ahead of you and smashed (yet another) leg last year but he'll still be a force to be reckoned with if he enters. Or perhaps he'll join the legions of those in their late 40s/50s/60s who are all incredibly capable of winning the vets but value their health and fitness too much as they know they'll throw it out the door if they enter 'one more time' ;)

That was excellent. He had so much speed, he went past the rest like they were just meandering along gently (which they weren't).

There were two injuries, one was a nasty slice to a forearm from a board edge, down into tendons. Second was similar with a board slicing across fingers and needing stitches in all four fingers. Other than that all good.

    Nice work @Arne

I'm surprised they started from behind Eagles Nest and not the usual top of Karels in such superb conditions on a blue bird day. Do you happen to know why?

Anyone here putting their hand up for Top to Bottom this year? I'm always keen but never there these days (I've done 2).

Interclubs later in the day while we're at it?

No. I'm on blood thinners til summer. Having a slightly slower winter this year.

Still managed to axe myself yesterday with a 30m cartwheel. Knee has blown up but dr says it's ok and should recover quick. Can barely walk though.

I reckon I'd be knackered by about 0:24 (putting my skis on) - no way I'd make it to the bottom without stopping for a rest! And I'd have to get up before 6am, which is another problem.

He older I get, the faster I was! Entered in the early 90's, had a great time and used up around 7 lives that weekend so I'm keeping the remaining ones as long possible, hence the thought process of " maybe one more time...ahhh...nah!"

Done one. This was three years ago. My goal was to overtake one skier in the run. Just one. Unfortunately I encountered the one guy whose goal was NOT to be overtaken by anybody. Shoulder bumping ensued. I lost. Stacked. Nearly slid into a boulder on the steep part of World Cup. I will have my revenge, in this life or the next!

If you drop into Kareela for a pork knuckle and a round of beers then 'race' to the bottom of the course before the last event is over do you still register a time?
