Will fill in on previous days later but for now, arrived in revelstoke today from Penticton with a lunch stop to have a look at SilverStar. Nice dinner in town tonight now watching it smash down snow to add the metre odd already on the deck. Better not drink too late tonight, tomorrow could be fun.
I just spoke to Mrs who hates the cold and she said she'd rather be here in revelstoke now than in Melbourne. Must be yuk
You picked a good day for the drive, and arrived in Revy a bit in front of the system. Just as we planned!
Not many pics as awesome powder day. Just didn’t stop snowing at Revy, we were getting freshies right till the last run. Town looking nice as well
I bought my MC for A$455 and have ski’d 3 days at Buller 2 days at coronet peak 2 days at remarkables About to have 2 at revie, 2 at LL and 2 at Sunshine. Damn good value
Plenty of Aussies here. Revy closed today. Rain in town and wind up high. Might need to start drinking soon
Yes. Fantastic value. I think we bought ours for the early ‘at par’ rate of $400aud. And my son was $100usd!! We got our bonus day at Thredbo - so three days there. We had two at Niseko in December and in a couple of weeks will get two at Aspen, A basin, Alta, Snowbird, Jackson and Big Sky. It’s almost like stealing. (My son won’t be with us in Nth America though).
Not exactly. The atmospheric river ran across the entire southern half of BC. Freezing level was roughly 1600 m. Some resorts sit above that, some below, some straddle it. Lower elevations got a lot of rain, especially Whistler and the lower mainland hills. Sasquatch (formerly Hemlock) got snow but no one can get there because of rockslides on the access road. Closures at various times on hwy 1 and 97 due to rock fall. Avy work will be next, happens every time when temps rise.
You scored the gap between fronts. Nice to be across Rogers Pass in good weather. Great scenery but can be hellacious in bad weather.
Weird day today, woke to it blizzarding, stopped by 10:00am and the snow was magnificent. Extra cold today, don’t think it got above -15 all day. Snow on top half of mountain was beautiful pow. Snow on bottom half was dust on crust and really not much fun to ski. Only problem with that is the chairlift up high is slow.
At this stage I have Revy well in front of KH. The horse has another chance tomorrow to try and get some more love.
Surely they get their beans from Kicking Horse Coffee? (which is, ironically, located 100 km south in Invermere, much closer to Pano than KHMR and definitely not on the Kicking Horse River).
Beautiful fresh in Lake Louise back bowls today. Sun this morning was spectacular. Fingers crossed for a few centimetres overnight as I have a pair of Head Kore 99s to demo tomorrow.
Having a beer and about to eat a pie with some very tired people at Boston pizza in Banff. I get the impression we won’t be going hard tonight.
