Top apartments on Mt Buller in short supply as ski season starts The Whitehorse Village development is being built at the highest point on Mt Buller, but is yet to open. THE Queen’s Birthday long weekend marks the start of the ski season. And this year, it might also mark the last chance to buy into the highest apartment development yet built on Mt Buller. The final stage of the Whitehorse Village apartments, designed by Interlandi Mantesso Architects and developed by the Grollo Group, has two apartments left for sale. Castran real estate managing director John Castran said the project had been a long time in the making and was in the most elite address on the mountain to date. “It took the Grollos 16 years to get the permits for this site,” Mr Castran said. “It is the highest (residential) development on Mt Buller. It’s on the edge of Bourke St and has fantastic views.” With the ski slopes right on its doorstep, Whitehorse Village includes 12 apartments — 10 already sold. In addition to the location within a gated community with heated drive-in garage parking and lifts up to the apartments, the list of interior amenities are also attractive. Each comes with a three-bedroom, two-bathroom floorplan that includes fireplaces, timber finishes and floors, as well as European appliances in the kitchen. “And the buildings are all very eco-friendly,” Mr Castran said. “The people who have bought them so far have loved them.” Mr Castran said the development had proven popular with generational buyers, including grandparents looking forward to teaching their grandchildren how to ski. Construction is well advanced and is due to be completed in two weeks. The two remaining apartments on the Whitehorse Valley Rd development are priced about $1.55 million and $1.6 million. Inspections are taking place this Saturday.
