On the way toFalls Creek/ Hotham - watch for the speedcam cars on the Snow Road - frequently near the Whoroully turn-off, also coming into Milawa and Myrleford just past the 60km/h signs, also in Tawonga on the ridge near the Bogong look-out.

Police have been also doing breath-testing just out of the Falls creek resort just after the turn-off to McKay creek.

I also saw 16 cop cars from Jindy to Marulan.
    That's a record.
    7 in cbr alone.

We left jindy around 730am. Had breaky for 45min in Cooma. Hardly any traffic at that time.

Nearly saw one head on. guy in a white Isuzu Dmax with number plate:

    SK 14ME

Overtaking on Numeralla River bridge around the left hander got in with about 20m to spare. WTF??

I hope you reported it to the police particularly if there were other witnesses . We left Jindy 10.30 am . Got home to Newcastle 1145 pm , great run after Sydney with the least traffic i have ever seen . wierd . Cops at williamsdtown just south of Royalla were packing up some kind of big operation(rbt perhaps ) that created a 10 km/h conga line that stretched for kms . Accident near marulan . Just before it i saw a cow grazing on the side of the road and bumper to bumper doing 105 kmh with people going around me tailgating as if it were Sydney traffic doing 20 kmh , thought to my self if shit happens its really gonna happn and about 1 km later traffic stops due to 5 car rear enders . Apart from that not much lunacy except for two ford rangers that nearly ran up my arse when we got the the line up going into Bredbo . Anyway that the last lw drive for us

Ahh that explains the 7 AFP cop cars heading past Royalla as well drove into Canberra.
They were setting up for a RBT.

Kinda traffic related, as there's usually a Costco reference in every Sydney to the Snow thread.

So, what's the go with Costco petrol? Do you have to be a member to buy it?

Looking at Fuelwatch this morning, E10 163.9 on Pennant Hills Road, 117.9 at Costco Casula. Might be different of course by 6 tomorrow morning, but if the Costco is still way cheaper, I might as well go there.

Discounting support from oil companies was withdrawn in Sydney on Friday 14/6 it seemed to be 7/11 who blinked first but was followed by Shell then Caltex - usually everyone has fallen into line within 24 hours so I would not expect Costco to be cheap tomorrow unless they are an independent and even then it will likely be 149.9

    I had a 7hr journey home.

Gonna offer free rides to people who can navigate around this crap from the passenger seat! I hate when i am driving and can't check or search for solutions!

Google maps kept updating home time between 8.30 and 9pm. 9pm was my cut to go via Appin to home. before that it was worth staying on the freeway.

Not sure bruch at Wildbrumby was worth it though (what delayed our departure from Jindy)

I enjoy the drive from Canberra to Thredbo and Cooma is a nice little highlight.

A bustling little country town and stop for a coffee on the way through, followed by a big grocery stock up at Woolies.

And then as you pop over the hill as you are leaving Cooma and the only thing you see in the distance is the breathtaking, magnificent snow-capped Snowy Mountains calling out my name...

Last weekend was a one-off. Well advertised snowfalls, bookings up, then rain on the Monday, EVERYONE leaving in the same one or two-hour block after accomodation checkout time.

Normally on a ski day the leaving is spread out; some leave after checkout, some squeeze out some skiing, some ski into the arvo, some stay until close.

I’ve literally never had it in 40 years of long weekends.

I've only been RBT'd a few times in total.

I snigger a bit when they ask me when was the last time I had a drink, and I grin and say "oh about 40 years ago" :D

I 100% agree. And i am completely in agreement with NSW new one strike, immediately lose your licence even for low range drink driving.

However - I would love to know how many people they booked at the Williamsdale set up.
