It will - that Milan stamp gets you 14 days of self isolation.
Should be right as I can prove pretty easily that I landed in Milan and left the country immediately over 2 weeks ago, got plenty of accommodation receipts, Airbnb messages cancelling accomm etc.
Just show them pics of you skiing pow on the French side
Hope the trip home is smooth or U be in strife with the missus
Just waiting for my two week off work here in London. It all seems inevitable now. Meant to be coming back to Aus in July for my brothers wedding, hoping it’s all done by then
In life there are generally always some benefits of everything. My flight back from LHR to Brisbane was half-full on both legs so I had 3 economy seats to myself and just sprawled watching sport/movies and slept flat for 24hrs was best trip back ever!
This thread could be shutting early this year...pretty much all of Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Norway and some of France now shut for season
Not all doom & gloom - latest from Tignes:-
Although it’s be a bit more climbing, I imagine the skiing will continue
Just on a fl
just on a flight back from Cham now so got out just a few hours before the French shut everything down apart from hospitals etc. plenty of good snow and touring to be done in Cham but a long walk before you hit snow at the moment. Up the Pierre a ric would be the only way to start with skis on at this point. Could be a good MTB up with skis on back option elsewhere
eBike could be an awesome tool
You're getting it anyway CM unless you're home already ?
Yep missed it by 6 hours.
As mentioned earlier we’re going to do some social distancing, we have a couple of sick parents and I have another family member with respiratory issues so we’re not going to see them for a bit.
Tignes & Val D'Isere were shut at midnight local time at very short notice. Bars, restaurants & shops left with loads of unsellable stock. Hire shops are allowed to open today (Sunday) for the return of gear. The road down the Isere Valley a huge traffic jam. Touring on the slopes banned. The Gestapo were out last night to enforce the midnight shutdown. Already talk of businesses going under. Seasonnaires having the 'Job of a lifetime' experience cut short just when they would be getting the most slope time in. All this just after being told the season would continue to 3rd May. Shutdown due to French PM.
a friend told me there was 17 miles+ of delays from Bourg to moutiers sounds crazy
There was a warning here (Netherlands) for all people who visited the Zillertal ski area in Austria between 8-15 March, because there is a high risk that they could have caught the virus there. Especially people who went to bars and restaurants in Mayrhofen, Gerlos, Zell am Ziller and Aschau-Kaltenbach are at risk.
A lockdown reflection on one of this seasons best runs that i managed to film.
Only got the GoPro out once in two weeks cause we had too much fun and when I did I forgot it was set to Linear mode so not a great angle on the video. Anyhow these two minutes and thirty seconds alone was worth getting Corona for
Hey guys, forum newbie here.
Went for a week in France this february and checked 2 ski resorts, Isola 2000 and Auron. Filmed this in Auron.
Lifts may have been long closed in Austria, but clearly some people are still skiing. Noticed on the weather panorama on Austrian morning TV fresh tracks on the Planai.
So had a look at the webcam. https://www.planai.at/en/planai-up-to-date/webcam
what planks and what tune?
Also, nice vid name
Haha, Black Crows Navis Freebird and a Swedish band called Skaburbian Collective
Serious stuff here! Crazy Norwegians!
Hey hey, Jacob is actually a Swede and he only took the Norwegians up there to show them how it's done
Back in the days of straight 200s the Rond wasn't very busy and why be a woose and slide down the arete when you can just drop in to the Poubelle as a warmup run
Sorry about the picture quality but no drones or GoPros back then...
K2 Extremes! I loved those skis!
Look how much more snow those days. I had to back off an attempt at the Rond because it was too icy back in 2012, these days you need to rope in to it and the Poubelle just doesn’t fill up.
Couple guys in Austria doing 3D virtual tours.
Stayed in that apartment block exiting same door in early Jan .Handy spot ADM across the road Cham Sud 50m
Bit of a fan of Nikolai Schirmer. He and Joonas Mattila have made some excellent short films for Black Crows.
Looks like the party is over for Ischgl in Austria.
Human memory is very short!
Just wait till this crisis is over, and soon it is back to business of demand.
Monterosa is opening up for some glacier skiing!!
Some in Austria also. Kaunertal, Hintertux, Kitzsteinhorn in the next few days
About now, I'd be busy booking flights and accomodation for next January.
Fingers crossed for January 2022, but I'm not convinced.
At least in January 2023 most of the new additions to the Village in Val D. will be complete and the kids will both be skiing well.
