There's an opportunity to celebrate the efforts by Helen and Michael next Tuesday evening. They are about to depart Falls Creek after decades of service to the community and resort guests.

Barry Iddles mine host at elk Restaurant has created an aptly titled soiree Champagne Lil's evening!
He's inviting everyone to celebrate the commitment by Helen and Michael with a well-priced three-course dinner.

It will be an entertaining affair with lots of colorful titbits they have gathered since arriving in 1982.

Iddles says "join us for a celebration $35 three-course dinner special."
Prawn gyoza or vegetarian samosa for entree, Roasted Eye Fillet w roast vegetables, beans & jus, Banoffi pie or cheese to finish.

That's a shame they are leaving. When they took over Gateway they really lifted the value for money of food on the mountain. Since then other places have also offered good food at decent prices (Barry being one of them) but it was Michael and Helen who led the way.

+1 just commented that the menu should include giant sausage rolls and vanilla slices. And I'd add a glass of Michael's Fault to that
