ok so 3 blokes, staying in vail for a week on mountain. Figured we might get bored and want to ski somewhere else for one of the days.

We are all advanced-expert level skiers, like steeps, BC but personally I don’t do moguls anymore! We’ve skied all over the world, but never Vail.

So in addition to vail, where would you go for an alt day, and why?
    Cheers
    James

Vail takes at least half your time.

As duck said, a day at a basin, couple of days at the beav and your done.

Beaver Creek for sure. Vail isn't a steep/deep mecca but it's definitely got enough to keep you occupied for a few days.

Not sure I'd bother going past Vail/BC when you're there for just a week.

If the top part of Breck is open + fresh snow I would definitely make the effort.
Also Keystone has some very nice tree skiing.

Don't know the scene these days at Keystone. They had a cat skiing operation running to the back bowls years ago. Was pay as ya go, $10 per trip back up. Was brilliant!!

I would just stick with Vail and then head to Beaver Creek for a day if you only have a week. Vail is excellent and has heaps of great terrain. To get to BC you just grab the public bus & you are there in 15mins...and only costs a few $$. Breck etc a fair bit of effort
